i didn't personally see it but almost everything i read about it said it was a bland near-remake of the first 2 that squandered it's legacy characters while not really giving you much to root for/care about in the new characters.
(hey, just like the Star Wars sequel trilogy)

Hyper realistic robots with G1 transformers?! That doesn't seem to work... Maybe if it was a crossover with the Bayverse, then it may work a lot better.

The Ghostbusters crossover was part of the IDW comics continuity, which is based on the movies, not the cartoon.

I don’t speak for the OP, but I think it’s mostly to do with
how John Conner is out of the picture in the first few minutes and basically goes through the whole "Judgment Day is inevitable" BS that people have gotten sick of by now.

Geez, T2 is just too perfect of an ending, isn't it? It's like every time someone tries to avert its message, everyone calls foul on the effort.

Addendum: another complaint would appear to be how the newcomers are just thrusted upon us and we're expected to care about them, but there’s little time dedicated to developing them personally.

So I just discovered this crossover recently and read it online. Really enjoyed it and hoping we’ll see a figure or two in the ongoing crossover series. I have Ghostbusters OP & Ecto, Gigawatt, and JP and would love to add a 2029 Starscream as an HK-Aerial!

Doubt its gonna happen. If it was going to, hasbro would have dropped the toy back when the comic came out.
And with the idw/tf contract expired, there's no point crosspromoting the now 3 year old comic.
And Terminator Dark Fate likely sunk the film franchise for the next decade or so.

Damn shame. I liked those Alex Milne designs. Especially Mustang Arcee and the HK Seekers
