Newage figures are very good. Be aware that the companies have different scales.

Largest (legends+) Mech Fan Toys, Papa Toys, Hot Soldiers. These are mostly knock offs oversized from the other companies.

Legend standard: Magic Square, DX9, and Iron Factory

Smaller: Newage

Newage is often lumped into legend scale but they are smaller and the scale will be off with the figures if you mix and match. Its probably best to stick with one company.

If I was starting right now I would probably get nothing but Newage.

If your buying figures on ebay I would buy from HZJ.

As for the figures, they're awesome! One bit of advice though: do some homework. As @Hawkwave mentioned, there are several companies doing small-scale TF stuff and how well they work together is often in the eye of the beholder given differences in scaling preferences. So research these threads and figure out what looks best to you.  

 

Just an addendum on the posts opinion.

For the most part MS and NA scale together. Only the NA cars are smaller than MS cars, NA Megatron and MS Prime are the same size. MS Huffer is too big (for some) to go with NA minibots.

There are lots of good Chinese vendors. Showz is one that is really good, and they ship fast to the UK.

im going to agree with you on this all the way. with the nice little hivemind collective we have going here. we have been there and done that many times over on scale and everything else under the sun.

also it is nice that we dont mind answering any of the many random questions that pop up.

but for once this video of his was kind of informative for someone just getting into the game.

Don't mind me chiming in here and say that to my eye, the maketoys cross dimension powermaster prime works well with official Hasbro legends Brawn & Swerve, and Mech Fans Toys Huffer & Pipes.

 

I finally had the opportunity to take these guys out of their boxes. I didn't think I'd like the Datsuns that much, but they're pretty fun. Blitzwing is alright, but the swivel above the ankles are super tight and the tab that's supposed to connect the legs together for "jet mode" aren't that secure. Prime is cool, but I'm still hoping that Iron Factory will make one that turns into an actual truck.

also, put a few drops of silicone oil on the ankles of blitzwing. i would hate for you to snap the foot off on a hard to find IF bot. aside from that welcome to the club.

 

As @lilcarus stated, some lube would help.
In addition to lube, I shaved some of the ball on those joints.
I also shaved the tabs to secure the legs better in alt mode. I believe there was a clearance issue not allowing the pieces to go together like they should.
After those three mods, Blitzwing has been much better.

 

I got my Prime (with Elita One) and the Datsuns from Robotoybase, and Blitzwing off of eBay. I also managed to get another IF Starscream for a very good price. My original one had a messed up face, but now that I have two of them, I have one regular Starscream with the rest of my IF Decepticons and the other with the Coronation gear.

 

I would sell it gladly as I have zero interest in NA megs. However I am in India so i dunno how much shipping would cost.

 

What bonus hips for Megatron? Are there any photos of this?
