I meant I'm curious about what people think once he's actually released.

It's a very cool figure! The problem is how much money we have and how much we want to reward an engineering coming in part from rotm toys.

Other than transformations I think he does a good job. He could definetly be better, but I wouldn't say he's bad.

It’s quite clear that Devastator mode is absolutely the priority here so I’d imagine all of the other mode-inaccuracies and compromises will make sense once the whole thing is combined.

What’s the issue here; that the design takes cues from the ROTF figure, that the reviewer popped the leg out or that it’s an open swivel joint?
I’m not a fan of that type of open joint but it does cut on parts count which seems to be very high. Additionally, using previously successful designs for inspiration while also integrating a whole new mode seems totally fair and there’s more than enough new engineering from what I can tell.

I do imagine however that this team is kicking themselves for not waiting until the SS figures were released as they’ve clearly been working on these since before SS Devy was even announced to have gotten as far along as they have.

On the issue of price I’d actually deem these to all be very reasonable. So if you think the projected total for the full set ($489.95 combined at Show Z prices for the 5 announced- estimate $200 for the next two releases [one double pack] so it could all come in at under $700) is a ludicrous amount to pay, I’d say- take 8 recently released, well articulated 3P figures of equivalent size and quality of paint, add their combined total, account for the fact that they don’t combine into a giant, hungry, alien, hoover bulldog and then reevaluate.

$700 is always gonna be a huge amount of money, especially for a big toy but, for what this ‘big toy’ is comprised of, I don’t think it’s unreasonable.

This thing looks crazy impressive. I couldn't care less about accuracy to these messes of design that you barely see on screen. Giant detailed garbage monster bot? I'm in.

When someone's better than you at something, it doesn't necessarily mean he's good.

I would not jump the gun on that ruling, given that Devil Savior's Devastator's proportions appear to be wonky as all get out. His legs seem to be far smaller than they should be.

Although that concept art is my personal favorite depiction of Devastator's proportions, it wasn't how he turned out in the movie at all. I do believe the legs were more squat in the final film (and thicker than in the concept art).

Looks like Devil Saviour is a bit closer to the film. f25f2157af9858128e472190686cb356.jpg
