Great! Now I just have to get the second game and I’ll be all set! I’ve had the complete edition of the third game for several months but I haven’t touched it yet.
The episode starts with the beginning of the books pretty much, so should be easy enough They do a good job setting things up and explaining them without it taking much time away from the episode's plot.
I watched episode two on my commute home. Also loved it, although I thought Geralt’s story was probably the weakest element. This is quickly turning into my favorite show in quite some time.
I haven't read the books or played any of the games, and know nothing about the series beyond what the promos. I just watched the first episode, and it’s fine. I see the potential, but nothing really wowed me so far. Most impressive, I thought, was the sword fight that Cavill had with the chick.
Now that the prologue is one and done we can move on towards the main saga and that starts with book #1 for season 2.
Just finished the season...I enjoyed it, but I think there some pacing/editing problems with the story telling. Sometimes the effects looks really good, and other times they don’t. It feels like something on Syfy with a slightly bigger budget. I think Cavill does a good job. Looking forward to season 2 though.
Just finished ep4, so everything involving Geralt up to now was a "prequel" so to speak to the story or show?
You're following three timelines. Yennefer's starts the furthest in the past, eventually intersects with Geralt's in the middle until both eventually hit Ciri's in the present. It's easy to tell where you are via context clues.
Same here. I really don't like getting into a TV series, but thought this one looked interesting. Outside of the sometimes poor graphics and blatantly gratuitous nude scenes the stories are actually quite entertaining. I have one more episode to go, so I'm finding myself looking forward to the next installment.
Finished the series, it was ok. Not enough monsters him being a monster Hunter. I don't like the non traditional timeline, and what's with all the mages being weak asses compared to that one black chick? All kinds of stupid there!
Me and my girlfriend watched it over the last two days, she’s not into anything like this but she really enjoyed it. I couldn’t put my finger on what it reminded me of until around episode 6- it feels like a harsher, grittier take on something like Xena or Hercules to me. But I really enjoyed it and it’s make me want to play the game (tried it when it came out but didn’t have the time to get into it)
I'm not too familiar with the source material, I have Witcher 3 for my PS4 but haven't played it yet. This show is too damn good. This and The Mandalorian have been the best shows full of fresh air. I'm 4 episodes in and I'm already sad that it's half way over.
Watched the entire season Fri and Sat. The timeline got me a bit confused as the first episode had events already set in motion and then the story went back to past events, but I liked it enough to watch another season.
The books don't really focus on him hunting monsters, it can be more of mere reference to or a quick chapter at times, though there are still monster slaying in them. The books tend to have Geralt dealing with the plots of others and the bigger story. His profession is just used as a way for getting Geralt into those predicaments.
Interesting enough, the Witcher books didn't have much in terms of sexual content. Yes, nudity was mentioned, so were characters having sex. Like people who are, y'know, dating. Geralt was also popular with the ladies cuz them witchers being sterile and having stamina. Again, it was mostly mentioned. There are a few scenes across all the books and that's it. But then the comic books and the old failed first TV show started playing this aspect too hard and it stuck.
