Sky Shadow was a lot of fun to custom. I love painting small details, and this figure has tons of them, mostly on his wings, forearms and legs, so highlighting them with silver and gold was a real pleasure for me. The bigger surfaces like his upper legs, upper arms and the inside of his lower arms were spray-painted in silver, which is a lot less time-consuming than painting, even with taking the pieces apart and putting them back together afterwards. The tank treads took me the longest, but I am glad I did them, even though you cannot really see them in tank mode, and just from behind in robot mode. Also the small machine gun, that I painted black, is unfortunately hidden when he is transformed. The final step then was to remove the stickers, and replace them with not so shiny decepticon symbols from toyhax. I know he is not as popular as Overlord, but I think I brought him one step closer to the spotlight of my shelf^^
I really love the paint job and i always thought Sky Shadow looked cooler so its nice to see the toy get some love!
Patience, lots of it^^ And a tiny brush. I usually buy bundle of cheap ones and cut them to the perfect size I need.
