Gotta go with MP-44. He's the worst because he's out of my budget and I really really REALLY want him! But seriously, the CW Prime was terrible, and the Voyager and Leader from TLK were pretty terrible too.
It was a joke (of sorts) I can't stand the design, the character, the movies in general... so any movie Optimus is the worst Optimus to me. I've never actually touched a movie figure.
One more: Hands down the worst OP toy I've owned so far. There's nothing Prime-ly about his proportions and tiny truck mode missing a smokestack for no reasonable reason.
Energon Prime, Armada Prime, POTP Primes are all crappy, but I've got to go with the Original G1 POwermaster Prime, the TF that killed all interest in Toys for me as a kid for a decade.
I like Energon Optimus, as a kind of "post-war" Optimus that just let himself go. In many ways, he is my spirit animal. I don't mind Titans Return. Is it dumb and goofy? Yeah, but I'm oddly okay with it, even though my preference is a cab over semi. Combiner Wars.... yeah, that's bad. I got the SND kit, and I'm happy with it. In the original form... ugh. Visually, it looked like, ironically, they were trying to end the "truck not monkey" argument by making the robot mode very gorilla looking. I don't own or count any of those limited glorified Happy Meal toys that have little or no articulation and barely transform. But the top of the trash heap for me? Deluxe, from the Ultimate Battle Pack. There is nothing good about that figure. It is a figure full of broken promises. It was designed to appeal to the G1 fan, but not even in the product shots were they able to make that truck mode look acceptable. I mean, look at the packaging! They display that terrible mode right on the front, and it is just the worst. The only thing that toy ever made me think is, I would buy it and try to mod it and fix it to look right... but why would I waste time and money trying to do that? It... it's just awful.
Yup , but the difference from the sdcc’s/takara’s deco which was about month or two apart is very shady imo.
Others are using more the ones they hate or dislike than the primes that are actually bad tbh. Oh he is horrible. Wish that I could sell that one. This is true both with this thread and the worst Transformer of the decade thread. And how could I forget the FE AOE Prime? I have the Silver Knight version and, while I like the colors, I absolutely hate the base mold. It just isn't very good, especially with the backpack.
I wasn't trying to be controversial just expressing my opinion. Looking through this thread, I'd forgotten about other versions. G1 Powermaster Optimus Prime, Robotmasters Optimus and the deluxe CHUG from the 2 pack with Megatron. That CHUG deluxe and Robotmasters toy had terrible truck modes. Powermaster Prime's stumpy arms and oversized head were a contradiction to the badass box art on the back of the packaging. Of course, said artwork also lied to us when it was used on the video packaging of the Return of Optimus Prime, falsely promising a cartoon with Powermasters and Pretenders, masking the piss poor animation and story of the actual episodes. I love the G1 toy but always hated the unheroic head sculpt with the creepy yellow optics. Last year I finally picked up the grail that was Device Label Optimus Prime with the cartoon accurate head sculpt. Shame subsequent reissues didn't use that head. The Titans Return Optimus/Octane mold is also a contender given that you can't seat a Titanmaster inside the cockpit or truck cab ruined the mold for me. Energon Optimus Prime is a guilty pleasure of mine though I've since customised him as Micromaster Overload.
