I must look like a rabid Planet X supporter because I am always advocating for them in this thread, but it just saddens me that Kadmos gets thrown in into the bucket of "Best CHUG style". The articulation for Kadmos exceeds pretty much every MP figure this year IMO, and the paint is at least as good as FT's figures. Sure there's some problems with the weak ratchet, but build quality wise, he's a couple steps up a typical MMC figure.

 

Man I just reread 2018 in review. Thank you for putting all this work into this it really comes out amazing.

Thanks. They do take time but they're pretty fun. When I started doing them I did freelance work for a lot if 3p so it was a bit of market research too, now it's just stubborn tradition, haha.

 

Quality and articulation don't necessarily make a figure MP to me. I'd argue that almost all my CHUG figures are better articulated and of higher quality than any of my MP's. Kadmos is my figure of the year without question. He's still on my CHUG shelf with all my reformatted figures however.

 

He's undoubtedly masterpiece quality. I more or less lumped him in with CHUG because of how he scales with my reformatted figures. Brilliant figure though regardless

The Lancia Stratos is such a big deal in the world of rally racing, more than any other cars that has ever been a Transformer, that car, and that deco, is a legend. And there has never been a more accurate depiction of that car as Transformers toy. They nailed the racing livery and deco to a remarkable degree, especially for such a small toy. And that's both of them, including the full Marlboro livery on Exhaust. There have never been Transformers that nailed these cars as closely as Toyworld did with this pair. Not ever. And those very MP-looking robot modes are not too shabby either.

2) New Age Manero EX



New Age is killing it, and their Dastun/Fairlady mold cold have easily been on my list too, but that nice racing livery on Jazz certainly influenced the decision. The cartoon Jazz released first was nice but oh boy, put that proper deco on it and it's a knockout. Very clever fun little guy, and one of the best things I got in a long time.

3) Iron Factory EX-38 Optics hunter



What a delightful little chunky monkey this is! I picked up a few of the IF carbots but this one is really fun. The robot is fantastic and it's weird gerwalk mode is super fun, the Jeep is ok, certainly better than the Datsuns but not as nice as the Lambos, but in the middle, sorta neat.
