Well I like the show, but not enough to binge the whole thing from the beginning again. I’ll watch the MLP ep with my kids tonight.

Looks like I'm binge-watching the whole thing all over again. Normally I wouldn't do this, but I really want more...

The way Netflix is set up, you could start the 1st episode and it will autostart each episode until the final one. No need to even watch it.

At least until you get one of those annoying "are you still watching" messages.

Are there any really *defining* toy lines left? Honestly, I think the first 8 episodes covered all the toys that truly “made us.” If you run in nerd circles (which I do, of course), you know there are lots of other great lines. But have any of them really shaped the culture? Maaaybe Cabbage Patch Kids, but that was kind of a flash in the pan. Honestly, what else is there?

They could probably do a Hot Wheels one. Since the wrestling figure episode bounced from company to company, maybe a Marvel or DC superhero episode. Maybe Strawberry Shortcake, or Polly Pocket. I guess Thundercats, may not have generational appeal, but I'd give it a watch. I can't claim that they have stood the test of time, but I'd also watch a MASK or a Starcom episode. It may be interesting if they did a misfires episode about maybe 1-3 toys lines with great products (and/or devoted fans) that for whatever reason just didn't catch on.

I'm not one for artificially inflating numbers by repeat viewings just to prolong a show past its natural lifespan.

Way I see it, if TTTMU had the legs to keep going, it wouldn't need people to go and rewatch it for no other reason than to up stream rates. I like the show plenty, but they're running out of ideas unless they want to finally step into the 90's (besides PR) for some more obscure brands... but those aren't really the goal of the show. (but someone PLEASE tell me just how the fuck Mummies Alive happened)

I mean, I hope the best for them of course but I'd rather a short, concise series that happened naturally than stick it on life support.

It's been suggested in the past that they could do an early era videogames one. What about Beanie Babies? Monopoly board game, Rubiks Cube.

Aaah, most likely not. Just throwing out ideas.

Cabbage Patch Kids, Hot Wheels, NERF and home video game systems are the only things left that I think would count as toys that "made" anyone.

Beyond that, yeah, I'm not sure how long the show really can/should keep going.

Hot Wheels / Matchbox deserve an episode, but I can't think of a lot of other ones. I'd like to watch the latest four episodes, but time is sorta an issue this time of year.

I can see early 2000's properties making for a solid lineup with the advent of Japanese collectors series making waves in the west. (Pokemon, card games, Beyblade, etc)

They need to do a Spiral Zone or Robotech since the toon was a hit.

I wouldn't mind seeing them do an episode on Bionicle. I had a good amount of those as a kid and I think they'd have enough material.

The only issue I can see is that they more or less covered Bionicle as part of Lego so I'm not sure if they'd be willing to do a separate look at just Bionicle.

I still think the season 4 should be
    Hot Wheels
    Cabbage Patch Kids
    Video Games
    Superhero toys

Except for CPK, the other 3 would be like the Wrestling episode that would cover multiple lines & brands over time

    Yep.

I don't really care if this series lives or dies. The internet exists and someone else will eventually do the work. Probably Toy Galaxy.

I think this last season had a little too much of the out of work comedians or yesteryear celebrities making comments over home videos vibe. Certainly trying too hard to be funny. Worse, at the expense of their guests.

I expect next season will require an appearance by Danny Bonaduce, Todd Bridges or the forgotten Baldwin.

And, honestly, if I were a toy manufacturer watching another company be quietly laughed at in a documentary, I doubt I would be willing to openly participate in later episodes.

    Season 4 will be--

But netflix is about the choose if it gets a new season and he says watch the show to help ratings or it will get canned!

    So

    smurfs
    matchbox
    d&d
    cabbage patch kids
    nerf
    Fast food toys

That's more episodes then the last seasons if they make another season.

'Toys That Made Us' Season 4 to cover Smurfs, Nerf, D&D — if Netflix renews

Edit--d&d and fast food toys would be in the season after i was told. So nerf, smurfs, cabbage patch kids (and the terror that went on that christmas in the toy stores) and matchbox.
