Finally decided, despite the Tales of Doom© about the shoulders and flaps, it was time to get myself an Overheat...

    Great looking car!

    draggybaby.jpeg

And I was so pleased when the Flap of Doom© simply pushed straight up!

    bumflap.jpeg

And the wheels turned easily on the shoulders, just like they're supposed to :D

    And then THIS HAPPENED!!!

    ohno.jpeg

    ohshit.jpeg

    ohflip.jpeg

    ohfk.jpeg

The engine block was a bit stiff to bend down, then suddenly moved really easily... as it came off! :(

Luckily the engine is still held in place securely when the front of the cockpit is swung down

    heatybaby.jpeg

    But I'm not happy :(

It doesn't look like an easy part to replace, but if I was going to try for a replacement would I be better contacting Show.Z or XTB?

On a lighter note, I've found the G1 toy mode ;)

RE How Gravestone looks, beauty is in the eye of the beholder and that holds true for all the figures we choose to collect.
However, I could take just about any figure in my collection and make it look dumb, stilted, and crap by posing it terribly. A lot of people who take pics just don't seem to care enough to make figures look good. Gravestone doesn't even has his feet flat on that surface.
The point of saying all this is to do research to see figures from as many angles from pics and videos to decide for yourself, and keep in mind that bad posing can quickly turn a good looking figure into a pile of garbage (being hyperbolic but you get what I mean).

Yeah, that's not a breakage I've seen before either (i.e. Engine of Doom is copyright free). XTB will likely be accommodating but if it's a swine to fix it might not matter how helpful they are...
You might need to consult an experienced modder for advice if it's not straightforward when you look at it properly

Or see if you can get a complete figure replacement. That sort of breakage could easily be from some older damage when the figure was put together that weakened that spot.

That sucks. I've unfortunately experienced a problem having just received mine today also, but in a different area.

The front of the car was able to move just fine as with yours which I was happy to see, then I moved onto the arms, no apparent cracks which was good also, but as soon as I tried to untab them going from car to bot I discovered the right arm had snapped off just below the shoulder, where I'm guessing a mushroom peg was connecting it to the bicep, but it was sheered off:

Which is a shame as the rest of the figure is as good as can be expected. The paint is pretty good throughout and the rest of the joints seem good.

I've contacted ShowZ as I ordered from them as well, so they're going to have a couple of claims to deal with for the same figure. Hopefully that part can be replaced without removing pins as I suck at that.

I used to dislike Gravestone before they came out with painted pics. That was because I felt the thighs were too short. Now seeing him in this photo, the thighs are looking short again. If you look at overall body shape, he doesn’t look very proportionate. His upper body looks too big compared to his lower body. They are definitely too short, and that taper doesn’t help either. Just my opinion. I already have him preordered, but I just wish they did something with his thighs.

We've both had bad luck today, and I was so happy that I'd finally got all four limb bots :(

Engine of Doom© is mine now

It felt just like the hinge inside the engine block was moving, there was no sudden snap as you usually get when plastic breaks...

Why is Dragstrip made of such awful plastic? It's like he's made of cheese. It doesn't bend, it doesn't snap, it just shears right off and very easily. When my hood broke, it was just like that - wouldn't move then suddenly it freed up and felt just like it was hinging the way it was meant to. Turns out it wasn't - it was just tearing right off with very little difficulty at all. When I got my replacement part, I couldn't get the pin out, so I decided to just cut away what was left of the old hinge and I've gotta say it was super easy to just tear chunks out of it. Even my 3d printed pieces are more solid than this guy.

It isn't regularly, but that exact type of sheering has been happening occasionally for years. The most prominent I remember was with the first version of Ollie where several people had a problem. Since then it hasn't happened very much but I feel like I've seen it reported one or two times a year between XTB and KFC (a fairly safe rate considering how many people have bought them).
