I actually really like the colours, I think it's just the over-designed nature of it. It's that modern Gundam aesthetic of too many big pieces of geometry jutting and intersecting at too many angles.
Two words: Ippei Gyoubu. In a way it's taking the extremes of his G-Reco designs, and putting them on the IBO Gundam Frame. The pictures of this thing going full Mecha Shiva makes it look more chaotic with the angles spreading in all directions, but let's see it in a more relaxed stance, with its wings down. It's an interesting design, very uniform and heaviliy armored, like the Astaroth Origin mixed with the Barbatos Lupus and Bael.
Nope. then again, i'm the sort that tends to think that most GUNDAM-franchise MS designs out there are rather... Out There, design-wise. YMMV, ZETA/COUNTERATTACK/0080/0083/SENTINEL is, IMO, about as good as GUNDAM has ever gotten, outside of some occasional, unusually well-designed MS oddities, from various and sundry series produced since...
G Gundam will always be the best and have the best designs in the history of Gundam. Since I said YOLO and bought the RG Nu and Funnel expansion, I keep being afraid of ordering the RG Sazabi even though I have the MG verKa sitting in my backlog and I don't remember the last time I built an MG.
Finally happy with Justice , broke the camera lense and had to wait for a replacement , btw just me or is the tab for gun holding hands a little unstable , kinda hard to fit it in and hold it some zeta fun And now back to qant fs while waiting for barbs
Really? I usually like his designs for their bulbous, more detailed shapes than just angle and triangles everywhere. I'm surprised to know that's him.
I like the colours, but just not on this particular suit. Primary white looks good on more simplistic designs, where the clean silhouette gives it definition. On a design this extreme and overloaded though, the silhouette gets lost in the sea of white and it looks like a mess.
Can't miss it. His style has this way of blending the long round protrusions into square limbs. Besides, he did virtually ALL of the Gundam frames in IB . Part of the behind the scenes information on the series was each mechanical designer was relegated to a given time period. Gundam Frames and ancient models were Gyoubu, while the modern machines like the Graze were by Ebikawa.
I think you're right. The red and yellow details also show up really sporadically and the red especially feels "clumped" awkwardly in the feet. It sort of suffers from the same thing as Kimaris Vidar where every colour seems to want to show up in equal amounts on every main body part. That thing's gonna be a sticker nightmare.
Good news for everybody looking for a G40, Blue Fin has them in stock for $35USD. Gundam G40 (Industrial Design Ver.) "Gundam", Bandai Spirits HG 1/144
"Soon" Just because the sprue says Gundam Mk. III doesn't mean anything. Hell, Bandai came out with Gundam X, Gundam X Divider, Gundam Double X, and Gundam Airmaster...but no Gundam Leopard. We got the Build Fighters version but did that get turned into a proper Gundam Leopard? No, it was the basis for the GM/GM because they reused the joints for some weird-ass reason. Like, take the R-Jarja. The original version of this kit, the Build Fighters Try R-Gyagya, came out several years before they ever actually bothered announcing a release of the original design from Gundam ZZ. The Dom R35 was weird, given that kit was supposed to make it seem like you made the R35 off the parts of the original HG Dom kit, but you couldn't because the old Dom is, well, old, and Gundam Tristrian and Nu-Zeon how why reusing ancient HGs for the base of new variants really isn't a good idea. Gundam Gusion is an amazing design you apologize right now Goddamnit, I think that design is pretty okay, but for $35? For something that basic at 1/144? Granted, it's not PB, which alone is incentive to buy because Bandai isn't making it stupid hard to get, but still...I haven't even built my Revive version yet!
For what it's worth, the model is a special release, and all about the engineering. It's not Real Grade, ja nai, but from the looks of everybody who's pleased with it, you get what you pay for. Glad to help! - Finishing the backpack, but I had to stop once I applied more enamel and started leaving thumbprints. Fortunately, a little Mr Color Thinner takes it off without any problem. Attached it to the back, and I filled in some more of the raised details in silver. Back to the front side, I added a little more color under the hood. This extra bit of detail shines through the gaps of the armor.
You ever have a dream about something you should be working on, and you start on it the next day? Watching the enamel dry on Sazabi and killing time by working on the NotFrame Arms Girl from my RG Red Frame expansion set. Is it wrong for me to say "this feels dirty?" So, I'm going to De-Lewd the Lady. I'll leave some skin exposed, modestly.
*Glances at the MG Astray runners, that clearly have the right arm parts gated for some mysterious purpose that has yet to be revealed, 10 years later...*
