Damn, FT just destroys the Zeta version.

 

To be fair the Zeta version was not aiming for toon accuracy.

Still don't think it will work very well trying to get it lower but I don't have my copy yet so I cannot confirm.

 

Got mine from the Toy Dojo set up on my display. Solid and great figure....even the waist swivel in one direction doesn't bother me. If I had to knit pick, the only thing that bothers me a little is he's really big. I knew that going in on this set for bot mode but it sorta makes me glad I went with the X Trans for the Stunticon bots. Maybe I've just got this perception in my head from the old toy days but I just always felt the aerialbots were small figures regardless.  

Still, great figure and glad to have him, he doesn't disappoint.

 

Could it be that he adjustable backpack was only referred to Iceman (Air Raid), which was the thread topic then?

 

It's not about toon accuracy. They killed them in materials and engineering. I have both and Zeta feels like a cheap knock off compared to FT.

 

Received my Goose today! Despite some of the articulation quirks and size of the backpack, I'm thoroughly impressed. A far more satisfying purchase for me versus their Spoiler release. I'm pretty ecstatic to have an entire FT Aerialbot display with my Zeta combined behind. Also between the weight of the 4 FT combiner releases thus far, I really do worry about the stability of the combined mode. FT made no sacrifices form their typical materials/feel with these bots, but perhaps the arm figures will be a bit lighter to compensate?

Overall FT has nailed the first 2 figures in this set for me!

I am not criticizing you, but I just like your super non contrarian view of "I like my less articulated figure better than the one with ab crunch, etc".

This right here. I did not buy Zeta but the reports say that it feels like a knockoff due to the material quality. Of course, it is also a lot cheaper than the FT version, so in that regard, it probably isn't fair to compare.

 

Wow. What a fail on the landing gear. Why did they choose to hide it in the cockpit and then extend it through the intake?
What was wrong with utilising the nose area and this panel better.?

 

Huh. I got my in stock notice, and I told them to ship my stack. Even sprang the extra $6 for two-day shipping. No shipping notice, though.

The real plane has the landing gear come out of the bottom of the intake. Given that the intake has to split in two and also has to store the robot head, I suppose the way they did it was the simplest solution to having the gear come out in the right place.

lol that's fair. To me I just can't get over the super slender proportions and stubby feet of Spoiler. Even with vastly better articulation, he just looks awkward for my tastes, and the same applies to DX9 as well. I still admire their wizardry for mass-shifting a bot that size into a MP scale car though.

Also I've been critical of the articulation or lack there of on this figure. It's honestly a bit crazy to have one direction waist swivel, and barely functional elbow bends this late into the game. Fortunately Goose just looks phenomenal, especially next to Zeta's offering.

 

It will definitely be stable, the FT needs to prove it is firm! Analyze your errors with omega FT.
They need to make it perfect as they will launch future projects.
