I doubt LEGO will let the SW license go unless it becomes unprofitable. Its one of their most popular lines. They sure don't want a competitor to get the license. They can just make sets based on the older movies, which they do a lot of now. Probably close to a dozen Falcons been done so far. There will be future movies in a few years and then you have all the TV shows being made for Disney+ to make sets out of. They aren't running out of things to make sets of anytime soon. Yesterday I got the Central Perk Friends set at a Barns & Knobles. Got to use the 25% coupon on it.
Has there ever been an official C-3PO and R2-D2 Brickheadz set? Just odd that that doesn't appear to be the case. That one set seems like a no-brainer to me.
Target Employees can be fairly lax about it. That, or people used the "swipe an identical-priced one and take the street-dated-one" ""trick"" that's actually theft.
I'm surprised they let you use the 25% off coupon, Lego is listed in the "does not apply" exceptions in the fine print.
This time of year the stores are lax about it, they just want to move as much product off the shelves and the backroom as possible. I think the boxes may have a street date printed on them but they are not locked out at the register. Certain sets - usually the architecture sets and sometimes Ideas sets - you can use the coupon on, for some reason they aren't categorized as Lego. My local target has had nothing but Wave 1 Battlemasters for six months now. They're not worried about moving old product.
I am speaking specifically about Lego, this time of year and street dates, happens every year. What you are speaking about in regards to Battlemasters can be said about pretty much any other toy line at any time of year
The coupon said something like "Lego in the kids sections". So I guess that means the regular sets, not the one more focused on adult collectors. This Friends Central Perk set falls into that. Just can't see kids interested in a set based on a show older then they are & is essentially a Starbucks café.
I doubt that would happen, that would severely limit Lego's market for Star Trek. If they got the license and wanted to appeal to the adult consumers, they'd probably just do 4 $100-level display sets per year. No way would Lego do four full-size UCS sets for a single line every year.
Someone please put me out of my misery..... Regarding the Lego hero factory invasion from below sets.... how tall are the mini robot figures exactly? 2 inches tall? I have read that the standard Lego minifigure is 4cm tall but i can't seem to find any measurements of the Hero Factory mini robot body. Edit: The answer is..... 2 1/4 inches tall (the height of a hero factory mini robot ) for those that will stumble upon this in the future .
Found a pic via Google images (didn't realize they were that tall) I don't have any on hand right now, so can't provide an exact measurement, but this should give you a good idea.
Thank you . I came across that image via a google search myself and made an estimate of 2 inches (to 2.25 inches) but ...hopefully someone will take a picture of one with a ruler.
It really doesn't feel like they've advanced it all that much from the mid-2000s. They'll retrofit the old design with new shooters, or occasionally new parts will come out that help flesh out the details a bit, but they all seem fundamentally the same. It is a far less geometrically complex ship, though. So unlike many others where they continually improve and advance the building techniques and accuracy, the speeders haven't really needed much upgrading. Does seem like they come back to it a little too often, though. Probably in part due to the fact that it's one of the few Star Wars ships that can fit comfortably in the lower price brackets. That, and the two Jedi Starfighter designs.
Yeah, it just feels unnecessary at this point. I get the eternal AT-AT and X-Wing but I wish they'd forego the Podracers and Snowspeeder just once to do like, a crab droid. Or tri droid. Or ANYTHING they haven't already done three times.

Well, I for one was very happy they released another Snowspeeder. I've only (really) returned to Lego in the past year and a half so I didn't have a Snowspeeder yet. And this new release enabled me to get a brand new one wihout hunting for one.
