I'll also give the Legends one a pass for not only what you said, but also because it's a kid in the 1940's to boot since their version of Stargirl was a member of the 40's JSA.
DC Universe's STARGIRL To Make Debut During CRISIS ON INFINITE EARTHS Business Insider is reporting that the character will be debuting in the upcoming Crisis on Infinite Earths event prior to the airing of her own series. The appearance "will explain how she fits into the 'bigger DC live-action universe.' " This also indicates that the possibility of cameos from other DC Universe shows may be possible, with some rumors hinting at an appearance by the Teen Titans or the Doom Patrol as part of the titular Infinite Earths of the crossover.
DC Universe Releases First Teaser for Stargirl DC Universe's Stargirl follows Courtney Whitmore, a high school student who discovers her stepfather once served as sidekick to the superhero Starman. Courtney becomes the new wielder of Starman's cosmic staff in order to usher in a new era of superheroes as Stargirl. The series will feature multiple other DC characters, including members of the Justice Society of America and the Injustice Society. Arriving in 2020, DC Universe's Stargirl stars Brec Bassinger as Courtney Whitmore (Stargirl), Joel McHale as Sylvester Pemberton (Starman), Brian Stapf as Ted Grant (Wildcat), Lou Ferrigno Jr. as Rex Tyler (Hourman) and Meg DeLacy as Cindy Burman, with Anjelika Washington, Yvette Monreal and Christopher James Baker as undisclosed DC characters.
I believe that there was an article recently that said it would be on both. *looks it up* Yeah, after a quick Google I came across multiple articles saying that the series episodes would air on the CW a day after they go up on DC Universe. Which is a first I believe? Usually, it's the other way around.
New trailer: https://www.herocollector.com/en-us/Article/stargirl-first-trailer?utm_source=RedEye&utm_medium=Email&utm_campaign=HEROCOLLECTOR 16&utm_content=191213_Hero_Collector_US Can't say I am really excited when they say the people behind all the other terrible CW shows are behind this. I could not watch more than 2 episodes of Batwoman, dunno if I will even check this out. The trailer makes it seem like the same low-budget thing where the focus is the hero's personal life all over again. I noticed it says Lou Ferrigno Jr. as Hourman... does that mean the son of the Incredible Hulk will play him? Is he as massive as his dad was?
The costume looks fantastic. One thing that's bugged me about the DC shows in general is how much they take liberties with the costumes.
Wouldn't surprise me, it's been rumored the Dc Streaming and Crunchyroll will be absorbed by HBO Max for awhile. They want more content so they can take on Disney+, heck the next Adventure Time specials will be on HBO max before they are ever aired on cartoon network.
honestly, i wouldnt mind dc universe getting folded into hbo max, provided titans and young justice still continue (and swamp thing gets revived) and would honestly prefer that to them having 2 separate services
Swamp thing is dead, but I believe both Young Justice and Titans as well as Doom Patrol have already been renewed. Don't care about Titans, they only have about 2 or 3 decent episodes a season, but like the other two. Wish Titans would get a better showrunner/writers. It has the potential, but always fails by having their heroes in costume as little as possible and their obsession with being overly dark is ruining their narratives.
yea, i was sad that swamp thing got canceled, it was really good. titans has potential and im hoping that season 3 will be a bit lighter given the direction theyre taking dick in. i just wouldnt want everything from dc universe to just get dropped if the service goes away
I don't know why, but Owen Wilson yelling, "Starman!" had me cracking up. But this does look very promising. It looks true to the comics in a way that some of the other shows aren't.
This looked better. The S.T.R.I.P.E. exo-suit is pretty badass. And they even show Jay Garrick Flash, Hawkman, Johnny Thunder in the JSA photo! Pity they apparently all died saving the world... Anyone recognizes the villains? The guy in the mask must be Sportsmaster, and the blue guy probably Icicle, but the rest? And who is the guy in the green Cobra Commander hood? I do like that they seem to be keeping the costumes traditional. EDIT: Seems the lady with the half-mask is Tigress (yes, Artemis' mother), and the guy in the green mask is Dragon King. There is no such character in Marvel comics, but there is a group, and they are associated with Kun Lun... Dragon-Kings (Earth-616)
They just say they died, likely only a couple did and the rest are trapped in time or something so they can bring them back later.
