As far as I'm concerned, No More Heroes III was the real winner of the Game Awards

Having experienced both gyro and IR aiming, I don't think the difference is significant enough to warrant worry. Biggest difference I can think of is the need for a "reset position/recenter" function. And the switch from Wiimote to Joycon should make that pretty easy, as far as inputs go.

The main technical difference as far as I'm aware is that IR uses the sensor bar for a reference point while gyro doesn't. Without that reference point, IR doesn't work so much. The Switch's IR sensor has, thus far, mainly been used as a proximity or shape sensor. And the placement on the controller would require one turn the Joycon backwards to use IR aiming (unless a sensor bar were place behind the controller). If they implement motion controls, it would almost certainly be gyro, not IR. And I honestly don't see why they wouldn't have it at least as an option.

Really, I'm still not seeing what the issue would be. MP1 and MP2 already had non-motion control versions. They already had to rework the games to put the motion controls into the Trilogy version in the first place (which resulted in things like removing effects because they had to change the arm canon from static to a full model with motion). If anything the issue would be putting standard controls into MP3 (which had much more extensive motion control implementation).

Many developers have already been adding gyro to Switch ports. I can't imagine it would be that much extra work to have both "traditional" and motion/gyro options in MP4. Those are already options in Nintendo games like Splatoon 2 and BotW. I'm honestly just not seeing the issue in putting gyro into MP4. And only one game in the Trilogy (MP3) should have any issues with putting in traditional controls.

There are experiential end user differences between the way gyro controls work in those examples (I'm familiar with them,) and the way Wii-mote pointer style control worked in previous Metroid Prime games that I still feel would require some work to optimize. But that's not really the point I'm making or the question I'm raising.

I'm not "worried" about them being able to implement gyro (or other motion) controls. That's not my point. My question - which is not so much a "worry" as just a point of curiosity about a hypothetical scenario - is:

If they opt to go with more industry fps standard controls for MP4, might the implementation of same for a potential Metroid Prime Trilogy offering be a consideration for them, as part of an overall quasi-remastering effort, so as to provide consistency on the platform across all series entries if/when that happens?

And might (as we've been discussing) that be accompanied by gyro controls instead of Wii-mote like functionality (since - and this is the only thing I think we may disagree about but I was never trying to get into a huge discussion anyway? - the two are not a simple one to one conversion. The end-user experience of holding a remote or a single Joycon in one hand and "pointing" at the screen in a mouse-cursor like fashion, is a very different experience than a centered gyro aiming control interface and requires a bit of user experience optimization work for the older entries, if they choose to do this.)

I'm not concerned about it I'm just musing. And my main point isn't even about the implementation so much as consistency across the titles if they do choose to make MP4 a departure from the previous entries.

I want to pick up Witcher 3 while its on sale, but I've been reading of people experiencing crashes. All varying amounts and thats just not something I want to take a $42 chance on.

How long does it take from start up to loading a save file to playing?

Parry and dodge a lot, and prepare before battles by making potions. And use Witcher vision a lot to check for enemies before charging into situations. The combat is super intuitive after a while and dare I say fun. And play Gwent. Play loooots of Gwent lol.

Honestly I haven't done that yet. I'll try tonight and let you know.

Thanks! Sounds like this will be a challenge for me, since I'm a button mashing brawler when it comes to combat in these games.

Can someone reccomend Astral Chain or Fire Emblem: Three Houses?

I plan on getting it this Christmas alongside Mario Maker 2

I just recently got a Switch (not lite), and while I'm really enjoying it, I desperately needs grips for when it's in handheld mode.

Can anyone here recommend a good one?

These are a few that I'm thinking about:

    https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07FNJJG5...olid=1PO0FQA4SMKGT&psc=1&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it

^this is the one I'm leaning towards.

    ^runner-up

^not sure the grips/handles are big enough on this one.

I'm playing through Ori and the Blind Forest, and I'm at a part where I've tried 3at least 40 times and still not able to complete it. The game has it so when you die, you automatically regenerate at your last save point. No "Game Over" screen, or even a loading screen, so you die and start playing again a split second later. This is cool. It makes it seem like one continuous run, and while it's frustrating to fail, they literally don't give you time to get mad! Haha. If there was a game over screen or even a few seconds delay of loading, I would have quit already.

Also, the reason why I called it quits with Hollow Knight after getting the first ending is that in order to get the better ending, there's a whole bunch of platforming to be done, and I didn't want to attempt it. Well, Ori is actually much more of a platformer then Hollow Knight is. So, if I beat Ori, I'm going to go back to Hollow Knight and get me the better ending.

Interesting. I find it kind of uncomfortable to hold for long periods too but never thought to look for something like that. Let us know what you get and how you like it.

Will do, but I was hoping someone here could point me in the right direction for which one to get. :p

Been looking at a few youtube reviews, though, and I'll probably just get the first one I listed.

Thanks guys -- those look pretty good, but I think I need something that flares out a bit more to the sides. I guess I'm just too used to Playstation controllers.
