i hope he's in a non-optimus colourscheme. it seems kind of out of character for optimus to be towing around a nuke. I'd like it if he was nemesis, shattered glass, or just an original colourscheme. I am definitely going to buy this guy though.

With the nuke he'd make a fantastic Toxitron. maybe a body the joes made for optimus that got stolen by decepticons/cobra and made evil and added a nuke.

Was just wondering if there had been any indication as to this guy's colouration when this showed up on TransFans:



I'm still a little torn... but not quite as torn, in so much as I think I prefer the darker paint of the existing green/camo model. Need to see the whole thing, though.

 

I would gladly buy a Doubledealer version of the design.

I think, personally, I'm about sold on the standard camo version instead. This just looks bland to me. But I still want to see how it looks in robot mode, just in case.

 

Well... The deco is a little underwhelming, but I'd probably pick this guy up instead of the standard camo version, just by virtue of liking the head-visor gimmick and the armament.

 

How strange; his logo was in Chinese flag colours (red & gold), and the previous releases all had colour-matched logos.

(I'd still prefer an Ultra Magnus version to any of the ones so far.)

Underwhelming color deco. It doesn't pop at all. Though, probably still getting it for the wonderful updated design.

The more I see, the more I hope that it's just not final deco. As in, that's just the foundation paint - more detailed work for things like the ladders and wheel hubs is still pending. If not, though, I mean I guess that's what a camo ballistic missile truck would look like, but as a toy it's... yeah...

 

That would be cool. Also - looking at the rocket - I think a modified Omega Supreme homage could be done with this.

Honestly I’m just down for the weird retools. That doubledealer looks pretty fab. Great looking toy though.

 

Damn good. I wish he's 28cm and boost up to 32cm after add-on.

 

Looks like this is still on, and the final deco is similar to the existing Jungle variant (via Transfans):





Dunno about anyone else, but I kinda lost interest after they went radio silent on it - especially with the bland looking one they displayed. But I managed to snag a Jungle variant, with the alternate missiles and head incoming, and I feel like the metal guns are a bit more spectacular than the new head, rocket, and... whatever those bits are stuck all over him. Seriously, what are they - cannons? Smoke stacks? Pointless greeble?

 

I noticed the new NB deco still has tan added into the jungle camo scheme. Also I hope it still comes with the large nose come for the ICBM launcher configuration.

 

I wish it had been a whole new colour choice, either red with the yellow star for Chinese military or use desert camo, which I think Optimus would look great in. Mixing tan in with jungle camo isn't all that enticing.

 

Any form of hard nationalism on a transformer is no-go for me. ICBM launcher in former Soviet Bloc camo scheme would work without being jingoistic.
