Guest starring Clancy Brown AND Dave Filoni? You know I had to watch this episode. And looking at the credits, Filoni's name was "Trapper Wolf". That is like the most Filoni thing ever. XD I love it.

Disney’s smartest move with Star Wars would be a big budget Mandalorian western as the next movie. This is the only direction to save the brand.

I find it funny the purple Twi'lek we all saw in the original trailer for the series turned out to be a blade obsessed maniac.

Okay, watched episode six and it was great. I haven't hated any of the episodes really, but this one feels like it's back up to par with the first couple or close to it. Really enjoyed seeing Clancy Brown there.

Also, watching Mando take down all the mercs who betrayed him one at a time after his escape was pretty badass. Especially the scene where he walks up behind the field leader guy in the dark corridor with the intermittent light flashes. Not to mention the part where Yizmo was about to use the Force to stop Zero and looked at his hand like 'wtf' after Mando shot the droid from behind.

Well, there were a lot of people that didn’t like it, unfortunately.

oh my god that twi'lek killed Matt Lanter. SHE KILLED ANAKIN.
The others were Rick and Deborah, directors of episodes 2 and 3. They are Trapper Wolf, Jib Dodger, and Sash Ketter

    Great episode...
Mando was utterly badass, and I loved it when the child raised his hand and (SPOILERS) got (SPOILERS AGAIN) and he looked at his hand like WTF did I do that...

Just finished episode 6. Yeah it was pretty great. It’s probably the most badass we’ve seen the Mandalorian so far. Even the mercenaries had fun watching him kill those droids. They did a great job with the fight scenes in this episode and coming up with clever ways to get The Mandalorian out of tough situations. Bill Burr was a great addition to the cast. He wasn’t just there for jokes, and if he did have a humorous line, it felt natural. That’s probably because they would never air Bill Burr style comedy on Disney Plus, but you know what I’m getting at.

There were so many cameos in this episode, that it was hard to keep track of. I recognized Dave Filoni right away. Deborah Chow was the female X-Wing pilot too. Matt Lanter was the New Republic Guard.

My one criticism is that the bare ones of the plot is a bit similar to the last episode where The Mandalorian takes a job, gets double crossed, and then has to get back to his ship because Baby Yoda is in danger. That and it was a bit of a cop out that he didn’t kill the mercenaries like we were led to believe.

I will say this, it would have been awesome to have the New Republic and their Droids in the ST.

Yeah maybe a little similar, but with only two episodes left they will get back to the main plot next episode and it'll likely be a two parter.

I preferred that as a filler episode to the previous two. It was decent fun, and I loved hearing Richard Ayoade as the robot.

I'll say what I feel like I've been saying for the last month- I would have preferred something that was a bit more pointed lot wise.

    Well that was rad.

I’m going to need figures of that whole crew. Well, except for Bill Burr — he dropped baby Yizmo so he’s dead to me now.

Totally agree really liked this one. Best line ever.

Ran: Well, Mayfeld -- he's one of the best triggermen I've ever seen. Former Imperial sharpshooter
    Mando: That's not saying much.
    Mayfeld: I wasn't a stormtrooper, wise-ass!

He was hilarious and that is a great robot. Really great robot. Disney has been killing it with absolutely fantastic robots.

I’ve been wanting a Black Series Devaronian Labria for a while now, but it’s probably more likely that we’d get Clancy Brown’s Burg first, and I’m A-OK with that.

Also, Bill Burr’s blaster-arm-rig on his back reminded me of the Dash Rendar figure:

I didn’t realize all the New Republic pilots were the directors. And I am extremely happy....

Deborah Chow directed The Sin and is doing Obi-Wan’s series. Awesome stuff.

Watched it earlier! Another really good episode! I really liked the suspense, it was almost like a heist thriller. I got a slight Doctor Who vibe, for some reason. I also really dug the new droid. His design reminded me of 4-LOM (who I've always been a fan of). He was really cool. It was also neat to see more of the New Republic, something the sequel trilogy is strangely lacking (they already seem much more interesting than the Resistance).

All of that much being said, if I'm being completely honest, this was probably the weakest episode for me so far. And that's not to say it was bad by any means, I just didn't like it as much as the others. Aside from the droid (and the "red guy", who's species I won't give away until the spoiler section), I didn't love the supporting characters.

This might be an unpopular opinion, but I thought Bill Burr's character was a bit too...meta, maybe? It's hard to pinpoint. I've never watched his work outside of this, but I know he's a comedian. And even if I didn't know that, I'd have probably picked up on it from his performance. It just felt like that type of performance. Kind of like when Barry Humphries was cast as the Goblin King in the Hobbit. It just feels noticeable, and doesn't entirely blend with the world around him. And that's not to say I disliked him, his character worked for what he was. I've certainly known people with that sort of attitude. And maybe that's why he didn't entirely click with me, maybe it's just a personality type I don't particularly like. Whatever the case, I just didn't love him as much as a lot of other people seem to. I did chuckle at his jokes though, especially the 'prequel one'.

Another likely unpopular opinion, but I didn't really like the Twi'Lek at all. Probably the first Mandalorian character I'd go as far as to say I flat out disliked. Not annoying like Jar Jar, I just found her performance....weird(?) At first I thought she was supposed to be a Harley Quinn-type character (flirtatious, slightly insane and creepy), but then...

...her brother acted basically the same. So maybe that's just the way their species acts? I'm assuming she was trying to channel Bib Fortuna, but who knows. I didn't really get what they were going for, and just found her character sort of offputting overall (along with her brother). I just don't think I'm a big fan of that "flirtatious slightly insane" character type. I find it a bit cringeworthy. Probably just personal preference. I don't like Harley either (at least the DCEU version).

I really liked the Devaronian guy. Come to think of it, we don't see a lot of species with flat-out physical strength in Star Wars. They're usually just human-level. This guy could withstand a flamethrower without any apparent injuries. He was almost like a superhero, but in a good way, not in a corny or overpowered way. It makes sense that different species could have tougher skin or something.

The last couple minutes really made the episode for me. Without it, I would have been more meh on it. But I liked the bit where the New Republic X-Wings come in and take out the space station, just as they're getting ready to launch that ship. That was neat, and ended the episode with a bang.

And I really loved the reveal that The Mandalorian imprisoned the bounty hunters instead of killing them. I thought that implication seemed a bit out-of-character for Mando, and that ending reveal was perfectly done. He wouldn't kill them, he would just lock them up, and essentially save them at the end by removing the tracker from the prison ship, directing the X-Wings to the base instead. This show has really good timing with reveals like that, it's amazing how they can re-contextualize the whole episode with that one short silent shot. Ironically, my friend (who hasn't seen the other episodes) missed that ending because he had to leave early. I'm really curious to hear his thoughts on the episode, since he's missing that bit of context. Like, it says so much about Mando's character.

It probably sounds like I'm being harsh on this episode, but I should point out that I did like it a lot. If I were to give the other episodes 8 or 8.5 (or even 9) stars out of 10, I'd probably give this one a 7.5. I could potentially even boost it up to an 8 on a rewatch, because I could easily see it growing on me. Not my favorite, but I'll take it over the majority of the Star Wars movies any day, so take that as you will.
