Having a plane on the back is what makes you an Aerialboy. That doesn’t bother me in the least. Waist only rotating one way? That’s horse duckis

I mean, it is odd. The other thing is that the original Aerialbots all share the same transformation so does this apply to the FansToys versions?

    oh well, nobody’s perfect!

Aaron Esherwood on YouTube commented something that is so idiotic/funny that I didn't even think of it, but he can't turn left at all BUT you can turn him RIGHT almost all the way around so it simulates a LEFT turn!

I didn't think of it during the livestream, but I did just test it out. It gets obstructed again by the back cover once you go far enough, but I think this is actually an "acceptable" workaround for most people.

I will continue to refer to him as "Zoolander" for this very enjoyable similarity.

It's also amusing that they reversed a photo of him to give the impression it could swivel the other way. So FT can be so purposeful about their photos to mislead but couldn't possibly take a photo of Jabber's final and very different color scheme vs all the earlier photos.
What's consistent is that FT will do whatever suits FT best to sell the most units.
According to Paik, the marketing photo of Goose has it looking like he can twist the other way but was actually a reversed image. We didn't know any better at the time but now that he's in-hand we can see that is apparently the case. Somewhat of a minor thing but still perhaps deceptive considering it does not twist that way.

Thanks. So you can twist it the other way far enough to get that same angle in the pose shown in that photo?

Came here to post this but @Paik4Life has ninja'd me somewhat and has stolen my glory.

But yes whilst the waist only rotates to his right due to the panel on the back it does go almost all the way round.

Edit for clarity, you only lose the first ratchet click to his left because of this but whilst it will work for most poses I do think you're losing one the most natural so its not the end of the world but still not great.

He does however look bloody marvelous I have to admit.

2020: The year your collection starts to have enough figures with random quirks and pose limitations you feel like you may need to start a spreadsheet to try to keep track of them all to reference before re-posing anything.

I personally prefer to have, over the waist rotation, the following articulation: 1) Double Jointed Elbows, followed by 2) Ab Crunch and 3) Head Tilt down

This is one of those “it’s fun to be outraged but in reality”

“Yes I want fully functioning waist swivel, but the way the sculpt gets broke up on these square boxes with wings I’d never use the joint in a shelf pose”

the new standards nowadays are a good waist swivel, ab crunch, and butterfly joints. the articulation bonuses conferred by these additiona really does make a tremendous difference. I used to like FT's offerings a lot but recently have started to feel like other than statuesque posing they do have a lot of limitations that limits their value.

You are right, but I failed to think of it at the time.

If no one else has I will after work today. I'm not there to do it now.

He looks amazing in your pics. Nice comparison with Spoiler too. Surprised to see Goose-man is even a tad taller. Can't wait to receive him.

It is a big backpack. No question. But it is what it is. Not sure what other way there is a round it... unless you make the nose-cone and tail section breakdown/disassemble in to smaller foldable components. It is +/- the same size as Zeta's offering... but the quality of the overall figure should be infinitely better.

He looks great. Backpack or no backpack I think he's one of my new favorite bots.

FT aerialbots definitely don't seem as good looking and well engineered as their stunticons. The waist swivel is an unfortunate design decision on par with the lack of ankle tilt on Gigapower's Grimlock, and if Fireflight and Slingshot have similar backpacks, Superion's arms aren't going to look too good.
Speaking of backpacks, for people who have the figure in hands, can the no second be folded inside and the backpack put in a lower position? That's important for the leg mode.
