Living here in Japan I can say that Shinkalion appears everywhere !

I think they did that ‘train rally’ thing popular here, where campaigns for anime or toy characters or events, etc, have participating train and/or subway stations post up temporarily small booths (more like desks) with a rubber stamp and ink, for fans (kids mostly) to apply on a carded ‘file’ given at the stations, convenience stores, etc.

...I wonder if we’ll see that done someday for this ‘Raiden Project’. I’ll keep this forum posted if it ever does.

I got into Shinkalion just our of curiosity, I liked the designs and I ended watching all the series. I wasn0t expecting it to last so long! Even Hatsune Miku appeared! Fun to watch, pure mecha for kids love!

    That’s great!
I attached here clear pics of all paragraphs on that page, including the last paragraph about the Raiden Project. There’s also the profile for the people interviewed, and that small mention at the very bottom, in regards to the ‘Railway In The Sky’ show in Tokyo.
The last pic I put is the full page, for reference. They’re talking about recent developments such as ‘Bump Of Chicken’ exclusive collabo item, as well as the ‘G-Shock’ one. I haven’t yet tried to read through and translate all that text. Thanks for your help!

Here’s their full names as seen in the ‘profile’ paragraph at the bottom of the page just below that Raiden Project paragraph..I hadn’t noticed it had Hiragana characters writing added to their names (written in Kanji characters).

    - Ohno Kohjin (Ohno)
    - Onohara Daisuke (Ono)
    - Yuki Hisashi (Yuki)

Huh. And I thought I was effectively done with MP collecting. Hopefully this one won't be nine billion dollars or whatever given the recent MP trends.

Sounds like they're going off the rails on a crazy train. But I'm here for it.

I kind of want it to just be insane. Like make all the trains motorized and O-scale compatible and just insane accessories.

I dunno, I imagine there'll be a significant markup, especially to import outside of Japan, but it still doesn't sound like this is going to be MP scale, at least not by the lack of details thus far. It's sounding more and more like the company plans to label it an MP, but possibly not follow the scale, sorta like a very updated and detailed G1 reissue? Too early to tell either way. But if it actually is MP scale, I imagine it'll be rather expensive, yes.

wow, interesting. I'd rather him be in the Generations style and size though. I'm sure this one will be painful to obtain.

MP Raiden now officially double confirmed, I guess Unicron willie dethroned as the most expensive TF figure soon.

Leaving aside the issues surrounding this particular toy, "MP Scale" has been redefined at least a couple of times. It's not one consistent thing.

I wonder how he scales with model trains, since I know there is some overlap between fandoms.

No, not consistent at all, but at least somewhat relatively close to the same scaling. But it's definitely a farther stretch from say 1/24 and 1/32 scale to suddenly have 1/80 scale thrown into the same line.
