Never liked the live action films. I'm a hater when it comes to Bayformers, but honestly TLK is the worst. AoE and RotF are bad, DotM is fine, and the first one was OK. But I would definitely rather watch the 1986 film and Bumblebee

Yes but it quite short, most focus on drama. But it still better than AOE and TLK for sure.

Nothing inherently wrong with drama, right?

Character development is important and essential

Yeah, if you just want nonstop action watch some fan stopmotions on YouTube. Or a compilation of the Bay fight scenes.

Yes..I'm not saying it's not a good transformers movie, but it's 50 percent focus on Human drama actually. This is a Transformers movie, should add more robots battle sequences instead act like a Disney family movie. USD135 million is actually more than enough to do so since it's just have 3 main robots character and film in same place, plus no high pay director and actor. That is the main factor why boxoffice not as expected.

Not a non stop action, just make some epic fight sequences with great story telling. Bumblebee need to improve a bit, it has the action and story but not impress.

So a film’s should be judged solely by action and how money it makes.

I think you’re losing me here. Last I remembered, it’s the highest rated on Rotten Tomatoes.

    So yeah

Action can't be too much also. Or else the movie's storyline would be weak and budget will be too high. Bumblebee is indeed got some action but just too short. Audiences will go and watch again at the cinema if they think the movie are great and sure the boxoffice will be higher. As for the Rotten tomatoes score please refer to Audiences Score, that's only the true rating instead of critics. Not everybody are the same thinking like you, everyone got their own opinion. Bumblebee could have been better in terms of thrilling storyline, actions and movie score.

It's ok Bro, we both actually prefer different type of Transformers movie..

I meant to say 'solely'. Bloody autocorrect on my phone.

Bumblebee is indeed got some action but just too short.[/QUOTE]
Too short as in what? Length of the film? I think we've plenty of two-to-three hour films already at this point.

Alright then, let's recheck the score then:
    The '86 Movie - 88%
    Bumblebee - 74%
Revenge of the Fallen - 57%
Dark of the Moon - 55%
    Age of Extinction - 51%
    The Last Knight - 44%

    So yeah, you were saying?

By that logic, not everyone thinks like you. No excuse to shut off brains and enjoy "muh boobies and explosions".

It's starting things fresh and establishing a new continuity.
You want action good action, develop your characters first and establish your world and continuity first. Otherwise, why should we care one bit when the "action" does turn up?

Why else do you think the Bay films have been constantly retconning themselves? Because, to quote MST3K: They just didn't care.

    You sure about that, kid?

I see above in the Rotten Tomatoes Audience score the 2007 movie at 85% was missed(or conveniently left out). Just behind the '86 movie and ahead of Bumblebee.

Ffs... mate we get it. You love Bumblebee, I do too. But you don’t need to be rude because somebody else doesn’t.

How am I being rude for asking for Transformers films to actually be smart and good? Is that really too much?

I thought you people wanted the same too.

Well you did seem to be condescending When Appleseed said what he liked about the other movies over BB and why. I will agree with him on the action scenes. IMO the forest fight in ROTF for example, a movie that overall I don't even like, is more memorable to me than the robot fights in BB and the human drama should have been trimmed. It depends on what you're looking for in a TF movie. Good characterization, smaller scope? Go with BB. More robot action/violence? Go with Bay.

Oh now I'm condescending? Projecting much, sir?

Look, I'm not saying "action" is inherently bad. What I'm trying to say is a good action film is a good, tight and competent story to justify said action sequences. At least with Bumblebee, one could at least tell the robots apart and they are identified by name than just merely drones and cannon fodder. The Bay films on the other hands are so convoluted and all over the place, I can't even care when the "good action" does turn up.

Honestly, it worries me that production values are so good that it fools people into thinking films like this are okay to be bad.
If the action is all you care about, then why even care about anything else?

I think that's the issue, we see them fight, but we don't experience them fight. Anyone can play around the toys; hell, one could take two strangers, put them in Optimus Prime and Megatron costumes and have them do cool stuff. But if you're constantly questioning how and why throughout the whole thing, you're not experiencing it, you constantly being distracted by elements that don't add up. Dawn of Justice didn't work, Mummy 2017 didn't work, so why should this be given a pass but not others?

Watch Bobsheaux's and Doug Walker's reviews and you might understand.

With all that said, look at me in the eye and tell me I'm being "rude and condescending".

Plus, I'm not exactly a big fan of shaky cams.

Your lucky a mod chimed in and edited my original response. (So I'm gonna be a bit cautious about what I type now). But your acting like a little prick over appleseeds opinion. Hell, it’s like your whining over the movies at this point....
