I've toyed with the idea of parting with this figure a few times since he released, but I just can't do it. Although I agree with everyone that the face could be better, as long as he stays in one of his two alt modes he's a peach.

This might have been mentioned before, but in my literal two minutes of handling it in person I’m just gonna justify his weird face as he’s just a younger springer. Again this was a brief interaction so maybe today when I check it out I’ll feel different.

I just figured it was a sure thing some 4th party kit maker would make an update for this figure that would include a replacement face, since the figure was so beloved and seemed to answer most of the needs of a decent Springer at that time, but that never happened (or hasn't yet). Hope springs eternal.

Honestly after having him for a week, he might fit my needs enough that I don't need to invest in a $100+ Springer from the other guys.

For me he's completing my collection as I'm not a super die hard fan of him, and he really looks the part already with this one.

Same here. I've gotten a bit in to the "completionist" mentality and despite some characters (movie autobots for example) not meaning much to me I'm still finding myself getting them, lol. So this guy works fine for me- classic case of "close enough."

Messing around with him a bit I’m SO glad I got him. Definitely a satisfying transformation I particularly like how the legs have the lock slider! The windshield transformation is pretty awesome too. Also, I love how they made that little flap piece to cover the slot where the arms go. ALSO the rubber on the feet is a really nice touch that I don’t think I’ve seen before, really adds to the stability

Try reversing his feet. Doesn't hinder transformation and looks much better imo.

Was tired of this guy not being able to store both weapons in Bot mode. So i made my own fix using some legos! (and scissors)
    82573975_479859862731151_7174836914866880512_n.jpg 83052405_589750111824122_180605818633191424_n.jpg
Had to shave down the insides of those holes a little. But they fit!
Also here's how to store in vehicle:

It's not the most elegant solution. But it works for me!

Oh gods i have no idea. It's from my bin of parts and projects. It could have come from a bunch of different sets. You can order specific pieces from bircklink.com or lego.com :^)

I got this guy at Christmas and am really enjoying him. However, I just noticed two of three screws are missing in one leg? Does anyone know how to reach out to the company? I couldn't find any relevant contact into at www.weibo.com/openplayltd, though that may be due to the translator I used.

Probably easier to hit up an Ace Hardware or similar for a replacements. I believe Open n' Play is no more.

Got one of these things on a humbug and now I believe every TF collector should have one. It is like a cheap fidget toy and overall is just a great toy. I purchased like a dozen or so MP scale TF the last couple of months and is by far the cheapest and one of the most I enjoy. There is something to be said about being not afraid a toys will not break when you play with it and I think I forgot about that. OC is ass from this company but get it from a good company that will take care of you and you will be good.

Absolutely this. Aesthetically he has a lot to be desired but that doesn't take away from how well made he is. IT feels very much like a unique toys product, buzzing, Carry, Gewalt etc. Plastic, tolerances, ingenuity all shout UT/DX9.

    Custom Big Spring
Swapped the feet, as the rear look much better, and animation model accurate.
Dropped the entire top of the helmet and the mohawk by nearly a mm. Makes the helmet look better, as it now looks shorter and wider. But the main reason I did it was to allow the head to rotate and fold away completely into the chest in alt mode. I removed and resculpted the forehead triangle, as the original was a solid shape rather than an outline. I resculpted the stock face with files, green stuff epoxy putty and sandpaper.
With the chest I removed the seam and filed off the hinge detail. I filed the grille flat (it curved out, and didn't look right to me) and plated it with styrene. I removed the yellow "belt buckle" section from the crotch plate, and rebuilt the whole thing onto the abs section. I plated the upper arms with styrene, and filed and sanded them until they were a nice smooth curve like the animation model. I filled the chest and shoulder screwholes and pin holes with green stuff, and added styrene to the chest tab so it locks better. Tweeked some other tabs so they work correctly.
Painted with Citadel paints and brushes. The light green was all painted, matched the pale green of the thighs and fists for the grille and face. Added some dark green into the colour scheme, and painted the engine nozzels and hubcaps silver. Mixed a metallic blue for the headlights and screens in the cockpit. Painted the gun and missile.

^ That's got to be the best face so far that I've seen for him.

For me this guy was always acceptable because I don't have much nostalgia for Springer and my aging mind thinks that face is right.

Whatever happened to OpenandPlay anyway? They did this and their Galvatron, and then...?
