I'm probably in a minority here, but I quite like partsforming when it's used within reason. For me, it's been a big part of Transformers since g1.

based on these based on these photos, he's only a little bigger then Titans return Bumblebee. Which means the scale still works. It might look a little funky, but bumblebee is supposed to be smaller than Cliffjumper

Excellent review yet again. This is a very G1 inspired Hoist. The wings on the back ,the hollow inside of back arms ,the detail on sides , and the white part(was sliver grey) spot on all G1. This is a must buy for me.Hoist has always been my 16 year old sons favorite transformer since birth. Nice to see you have an Earthrise Prime as well. Look forward to your next reviews great work!

Sweet review, Prime! It makes me pretty confident I'm gonna get myself an Earthrise Hoist the moment I see him. Articulation is lovely, and his gun looks a lot more convincing as part of his arm in your review than it did in the early promo shots. While I was afraid his (otherwise perfectly G1-accurate) arm panels would get in the way, they don't seem to be as cumbersome as, say, T30 Bumblebee's shoulder-mounted door wings. I wish the wheels on his calves could be pushed in to cover the visible hollowness, but that little issue feels trivial compared to everything else.

Car mode is really nice too. That particular shade of green combined with the silver looks really appealing. Maybe it's just your camera, but the hood almost looks like it's made of die cast instead of plastic. As for the visible hand syndrome, I almost like how cheeky it is. Overall, I'm really looking forward to this figure thanks to your video. It also helps that I have a soft spot for Hoist despite him not having a big role in the grad scheme of things. I hope we'll get a new Warpath figure eventually, to me they go hand-in-hand thanks to "A Decepticon in King Arthur's Court" (Don't judge, I loved that episode as a kid). Here's hoping we'll get version with a more toyetic\comic book coloring, as I think Hoist looks even better with a green helmet and a yellow visor.

Sweet review, hopefully you get Wheeljack or Grapple next haha.

How in the heck are you getting your hands on these so soon!?!?

Also, with Hoist -- he looks exactly like his G1 counterpart....the white radar/engine looking tab is supposed to be above his head and the orange "wings" on his back should be up/out

OK seriously, I love that cliffjumper, backpack part and all. WAAAAAY out there, but the backpack/shield thing it could be reminds me of these little robots I used to have where the front of the car was on one arm, and the back was on the other arm, and you put them on a little skateboard to transform? no? just me?

I think you probably nailed it with point 3. WFC figures have standard ports to be weaponized.

While there MIGHT be ways to have Cliffjumper’s backpack not partsform, it would conflict with the minimum 9 5mm ports for weaponizing. (2 on bottoms of feet, 2 on ankles, 2 on hands, 2 on wrists, at least one on back).

In general, they shoot for more.

Earthrise Optimus has 11 and 9 more in his trailer for 20 total.

He's ok. Although in this one only case I'd rather sacrifice the wrist swivel for the fists hidden inside forearms :p  for the better looking alt :)

I think those were a Hotwheels sub-line, maybe? I'd like to get my hands on some again, if only for nostalgia's sake.

TheBritsonian Z-Bots? Those were a Micro Machines sub-line, actually. (which should now be owned by Hasbro)

No biggie big buddy! If God Ginrai and Godbomber can do a bit of parts forming then so could CJ!;)

Parts forming/or swapping is part of the puzzle (and gives the mold(and it's designers a little wiggle room to complete the toy)

Quick question. I personally don't care if his hands are blue or grey, but is that metallic blue on his hands? I thought it was regular blue but it looks really good.

Cliffjumper just needs a nice Autobot logo on his bot chest and he will be nice on my shelf.

Cliffjumper's always had complications when it comes to his Autobot sigil. In car mode it's on the left side of his engine hood, while in bot mode it's on his chest which would be the roof of his car mode. Bumblebee's got the same problem. Odd they'd make the Earthrise figure in such a way that it's just plain not visible while he's in robot mode.
