Partsforming in no way stops me from thinking this is the best Cliffjumper ever. I can't wait for this!

Hmm... I kinda see potential Hubcap if not Bumblebee or Bumper.

Granted that rear part can be useful in some cases.

And if we do see how big is Cliff to the other Legends, let\'s end the conversation in we\'re safe to say it does.

    Another review of Cliffjumper:

Vehicle-wise it seems okay scale wise, I'll just assume Cliffjumper's car is a 2040 version of an AE86

    EDIT:

Looking at the wheel-size of Mirage vs Sideswipe and Mirage vs Cliffjumper I'd say I'm satisfied with the scale in vehicle mode

Just glancing through the last few pages, I'm amazed by the number of people that haven't gotten the news that Bumblebee WILL NOT SHARE this Cliffjumper mold. Even those that have gotten that news seem intent on ignoring or logic-looping themselves out of believing it.

I can totally see Runamuck/Runabout though. And will own both if/when they come.

Maybe the club will keep it alive with overpriced, poorly modified subscription series figures.

    Oh, wait.

That’s also not likely since all of the fan votes except the combiner (which we knew would be a retool) have been new molds, there’s little reason to assume that pattern will change

    Ugh... Partsformer.

Not a fan of the magic backpack. Not even a little bit. Super disappointing.

I wonder if the partsforming back end is meant to accommodate a future use of this mold? It may have also been meant as a way to appease a regular look with a larger backpack and w/out. I'm sure there are other ways to have achieved the latter, but who am I to second guess the Tak/Has designers.

I’m hoping runamuck and runabout share a unique mold and are deluxe sized or at least refraktor-sized. Legends sized feels too short to me for those characters.

When some extra parts are necessary to make a transformation.

Can you link to where that was said? The only interview I saw said that CJ wasn't a repaint of Bumblebee, it didn't rule out the other way around.

    That's the problem.

It used to mean "you have to take apart this car to turn it into a robot."

Now it apparently means "you have to remove literally *anything*."

Good to know, great that the line has been so successful.

That's a really good size tbh, and people said he was legends size. He's more like a bigger scout.

Sure, he's a bit on the small side, but what's there looks very nice. No open panels, none of the open cavities plaguing larger Deluxes like Impactor and Ironhide, nice accessories... I'm ok with this. As for the "partsforming" thing, these lines are probably the best time to have partsforming, because of all the 5mm plugs in the figures between the lines. Yeah it sucks when parts of a transformer just "come off" like Siege Starscream's front panel, but at least Cliffjumper's backpack can be equipped onto his allies' bodies and used in the same spirit as the weaponmasters. Very excited for this little guy!

Like with originals G1 Ironhide and Ratchet, without the entire back the car mode was just not convincing, so you need the extra part to make the transformation, not the case of G1 Six Shot por example or Megatron or Optimus Prime and so on, but is different from extra parts to "complement" a transformation, like with G1 Megatron, cannon complements the figure but can transform without it.

Seriously dude, your the one who has attempted to redefine partsforming. Removing a third of the car is not “anything,” it is a necessary component of the vehicle that must be removed for the transformation.

it's defined as not being a "true transformation". It's when parts must be completely removed in one mode and then reattached in another mode.

All parts to form a true Transformers figure are ideally integrated as permanently attached parts of the figure in both (all) modes.

Otherwise it isn't a Transformer. It's essentially playing with Legos (or Kreos if you prefer).

There are slight exceptions. Headmasters and also Combiner hands/feet are OK in this aspect.
