it should be much lighter and have a much smaller box. But maybe the retailers don’t know that? I noticed Nippon Yassan is charging a lot for shipping. Maybe that’s why? It’s stopping me from pulling the trigger.

The knees were/are a problem, the hinge/attachment point for the abs on some is very tight, the autobot symbol on his shoulder has application issues (gaps), chipped paint out of the box, tabbing issues with the sides of the cab in alt mode. In my case I had two left hands out of the box. I am sure there are others but I covered the broad strokes.

Yeah it was mainly the knees were the big issue.

Ironically my two were perfect out of the box and still are to this day. For me they are one of the sturdiest figures I own.

I still haven't opened my MP-44. I plan on doing it in about a week or two. I hope I got good luck with this guy. Same with Dinobots shoulder, when I get around to him...

I hope the best for you on that. Maybe just don’t set yourself up either way and take it as it is.

FYI Amazon Japan has finally put this back up for preorder. Currently at ¥20,076 for buyers outside of Japan (tax is removed after you add it to your cart).

Unfortunately the shipping is up ¥400 to ¥1600 but still worth it for sure. Nippon-Yasan is charging ¥5900 for EMS shipping and Amazon ships much faster. I’m still waiting for my Bandai DX Macross VF-1S from NY and I believe it released over two weeks ago.

AMJ definitely has been slow as hell with shipping as of recent but I feel there’s some korea/japanese trade shenanigans happening there. Oh well cheap is cheap.

edit* the cheapest it’s gotten is 20,000¥. I’m still locked in there. I wonder if it will drop lower. Maybe I’ll start paying it off a little at a time.

For me it depends on the figure as to when AJ ships, but for some reason even if they ship late I still get my package by Tuesday after release in Canada. Sometimes Wednesday but still much better than NY.

The shipping service that NY uses for EMS is pretty fast but they typically don’t actually ship the package for 1 to 2 weeks which never used to be the case. Similar to BBTS these days. I also used to ship SAL from NY to save some money because it used to be a lot less than EMS. But for MP-49 it was ¥5900 for EMS and ¥5000 for SAL so not much savings.

I was on the fence as to whether or not I really want a black Prime V3 repaint, but I just sold MP-10B and at around ¥20,000 I think it’s worth it. I’ll be using it for alt mode display until the inevitable toy plus repaint of MP-44 comes out. :)

I have problems with not being able to cancel a $200 item released in July after 12/22. Is that some sort of rolling date?

Yeah I was surprised at this too. Especially since this seems like a figure that'll be even cheaper next Black Friday.

Some preorders on Amazon.jp have a cutoff date after that you cannot cancel the order, it depends on the item.

Call me crazy, but I prefer the look of MP-10B, and espescially for a charachter that was never in the G1 cartoon, who cares if he is \"cartoon accurate\" if anybody with an MP-10B is looking to ditch it for a reasonable price to pick up an MP-49 then DM me! I will take it off your hands if the price is right.
