The paint is the only thing that keeps me from pre ordering Dragoon right away. If it looked like the custom a few pages back I wouldn't have any second thoughts.

 

Can confirm   I'm a loud whiner here but I could forget UT some design flaws if he was better painted and detailed.

 

I have already paid, but I am still not convinced because it's too tall!  

 

The problem isn’t that he’s too tall, the problem is challengers too short.

 

I have the mpm op ko and I'm kinda scared now how this guy and and mpm op will stack up. Considering megs is generally always a fair bit larger, it should be fine.

 

mmmm...that depends. If you want a Megatron that scales with MPM-4 like he did in movies 1-3 then you’re golden. The problem is in movies 4 and 5, galvamegatron was only like 2 feet taller than prime instead of the previous 7 feet taller. Going by that, the only MPM primes currently on the market that scale with dragoon are the Weijang and BMB oversized KOs.

Dry brushing is the easiest custom job to do, so it's not that big a deal imo

I’ve got a precision rotary tool so, if I get this, I may make a project out of engraving a crap-ton of details all over him and then a full repaint.
That’s a big if but it’d be good fun.

 

man, this guy’s engineering is wicked! not having the other unique toys releases, i’m tempted to pick him up just to mess around with the transformation, but a couple things stand out to me, one of which is already beaten to death:

1) lack of detailing. not a deal-breaker, but some more detailing would go a long way in terms of finish.

2) limited ankle pivot. if they were able to pivot more, it’s help tremendously when it comes to action poses.

i’ll wait til it’s released and will see how disciplined i am, but this guy is pretty amazing already.

 

They will look fine together, people here are scale nuts... If they are out of scale with each other, it will be by a small difference, it's not like it will be RUINED FOREVER...

The range is quite good, it's a shame it isn't a ratchet after all...  

 

Whilst I agree with you, just be glad that UT uses die-cast in a smart way and not the FT way...
So Dragoon can probably hold up his own leg without drooping because it's not overloaded with die-cast  

 

The lack of paint on the eyes really bugs me. I was thinking it was because maybe they light up but that doesn't seem to be the case.

 

I know people aren’t happy with the scale, but man will he look so good and imposing on a shelf! I cannot wait!

 

yeah,I agree. The eyes look dead like when they light up but there are no lights. Maybe a brighter red would help make them pop.

i keep wanting this guy then i keep remembering he is stupid big. too big for challenger and even too big for TW knight orion (which is 1 cm taller than challenger). why couldn't they just stick with either the challenger scale or the mpm scale. this thing really only scales with the OS KO bmb type stuff....of which there is no knight prime yet. i guess we can pretend that he was THAT much bigger than knight prime but i can remember he wa sthe only megs that wasn't much bigger than prime in bayverse.

 

Scale with Challenger looks fine to me.
