A little quick model based on the jetpacks seen in some of the original Generation One cartoon episodes.
Always felt these jetpacks were hilarious as the Autobots just managed to fly just as well without them.

Meaning that the Decepticons ability to fly in alt mode was really not an advantage, but oh well...

A simple and elegant jetpack design, most befitting of our robot friends from the 80s

A 5mm peg on the back allows it to fit nicely on most bots which have a 5mm port on the back.

Like so, for Ratchet over here. Mileage may vary from bot to bot depends on back kibble though.

Of course, since the doc is not really in for combat operations too much, better let Hound go for the ride instead

All geared up and ready to take down some airborne 'cons!

    Flight mode!

Here's what these jetpacks looked like in the cartoon series. As always, they tended to differ slightly from scene to scene so basically just used these 2 shots to design against.

And now, all your bots can fly too! Who needs wings? :)

That's cool. Would it be possible to put 5mm ports on the sides so you can add weapons or wings onto them ?

Ah, that's a smashing idea - so did up an alternative piece with not just side ports , but 2 on the rear so there are more options for adding accessories to this piece:

Also, of course this piece needed to be able to be attached to Prime too, as per another suggestion. So since Siege Prime had two 5mm ports on his back instead of a single one, an adapter was done up.

And yes, this could have been painted red, but eh ... As Megatron would say - use your imagination~ :p
