One of my favorite Siege figures, and I don't even have him yet. SUCH a fan of the paint scheme. The '90s called, they're asking us how much we like the gift they sent. :lol

I cant pull the trigger for this figure. It looks very generic.

I think you may have misunderstood the meaning/definition of generic.

Alrighty, I always wait a week or so to do a text review of my figures, and here's another. I do this for fun and also in the hopes that it will help people make a decision on whether or not they want a figure in their life, so hopefully at least someone gets something out of this other than me. If not, oh well, I enjoyed typing it up.

    Ramblings:

In a toy line full of excellent deluxes, Spinister shines as the best of the best of Siege. The deco in this guy is wonderfully garish, his articulation is top-notch, his sculpt is gorgeous, his materials are great, his accessories are perfect. Think of a pose and this figure can probably rock it; he's got ankle tilts that allow him to tilt back and side to side, wrist articulation, a double jointed elbow, legs that can kick like Chuck Norris, and a ball jointed neck that also has an extra forward and back tilt. The face-plated head sculpt and wrist blasters give him a sinister bounty hunter vibe that makes me want to give him a baby Yoda to protect--and he's got the wrist-mounted flame thrower to do it. The transformation to copter mode is fun and unique, though I worry about the clear plastic on his legs coupled with the tight clips that secure his feet, the force required to clip those in could put some stress on the plastic. The copter mode is good, but the canopy on the bottom doesn't tab in properly and leaves a gap in alt mode that is noticeable but not hateful. I don't really feel the need to track down his Targetmasters, but it's cool that they're out there for those that want them. This figure is borderline perfect.
    The Good:
    Pretty much everything?
    Nitpicks:
Bottom Canopy doesn't tab in all the way, the feet clips are a little too tight.
    The Bad:
    Can't think of anything.
    Mode Ranking:
    1. Bot
    2. Copter

Transformation Difficulty: 5/10--not hard, but not necessarily easy.
Grading: Siege Voyager Optimus Prime is pretty much as close to a 100/100 (I gave him a 94) official figure that I can think of, so that's what I'm grading to. I want all my figures to be above a 70/100, anything below that has failed in some regard, anything above an 80 is a figure I really like. I start with 100 and take points off.
    Grade: 95
(-2.5 for canopy not tabbing, -2.5 for feet clips being tight)

Yeah, mine's about the same. I can get it in there partially, but it doesn't stay. Probably has something to do with the clear plastic.

The clear plastic is too springy/elastic, to allow the pegs from the tail to lock, alright.

But looking at it closer I think it might also be a case of the tail piece not being able to get far enough down to reach the cockpit.

On the torso centre piece which becomes the tail there are two small nubs on either side which stop that torso from rotating 360 degrees. They seem designed to stop it at 180 degrees of turn, but are just a bit too big and only allow about 175 degrees rotation.

i generally REALLY like this guy, but the exposed fists hanging out there in alt mode are pretty terrible and could have been easily solved with 180° fists like Impactor, and the false cockpit just hanging off the bottom with no real purpose is pretty tacky.

I didn't mind either of those things at all, I felt like the fists were hidden well enough and like the idea of the underslung cockpit.

Really good solid figure, in a line full of solid figures. There’s something about late G1 colour schemes that really make a good figure into a great one though.

    Got my Spinister today!

First impression is that he's awesome with his two original Targetmasters as Battlemasters.

Haven't had a chance to convert him yet.

More details later, but I WILL get back to it sooner than later! :)

Anyone else have trouble to get his rear cockpit to stay flush with the vehicle body in copter mode?

And i may be paranoid but it feels like the Central torso chunk should fold out like, a micrometer MORE than it does for copter mode

Mine wasn't tabbing in all the way either. However I discovered that the bottom leg(or rather hip) was at an angle, not parallel to the waist. Once I made it parallel, the faux cockpit was able to tab in properly.
