i clicked on this thread because i misread the title. i thought there was gonna be KAZAAM 2 and i was gonna response with who bright idea was it to make a sequel to that!? the music... damn, man. back to the true topic: i don't hate Shazam, i just lack knowledge of this hero. i know there was a live action series in the 70s or 80s. could someone like me enjoy the movie?
Captain Marvel - one of his original if not most well known names - is a character that I feel almost everyone can enjoy. The movie has heart, humour and fairly low key stakes as these affairs go. Performances all around as pretty solid and VFX are really good. Give it a look, it’s worth it
Now WB announces a date. SHAZAM! 2 Lands A 2022 Release Date And It's Coming Just Four Months After BLACK ADAM April 1 2022.
Even if he was just an antagonist for some other superhero, I'll take it. I'll take the super-villain origin stories. Joker proved that with the right director, they can not only be done well, but in a way that is genius. Being that superhero films have been done to death now, and pretty much have run their course, I'll take the super-villain films now, k? thanks.
I didn't really think the first one was good enough to warrant a sequel. It was just ok. I feel like though since the first was so goofy, will Dwayne Johnson make BA goofy as well? That's my fear in all this.
Honestly, as soon as Dwayne Johnson was announced I expected a certain amount of comedy to be injected into Black Adam. The question really is just how much?
