Transformed Bumblebee back to vehicle mode for the first time today. It was easier than expected. Everything lines up well. Only "issue" which I have is the back part of the front wheel caps (don't know what they're called in English?) not sitting completely flush against the front part of the front wheel caps. I couldn't massage the small gap out. Anyone have a tip on how to get the front wheel caps closed properly?

I’ve been thinking, if Takara is going to cover these figures in paint it would be cool if they could let us know how to fix a scratch...I know it would be too much to include or sell touch up paint, but maybe at least give us something like a color number or mixing levels to cross reference if that is even possible?

Heck even new cars will come with a touch up pen.

The issue here is that the factory paints they use are not available for public use. Supposedly highly toxic or something like that before they're cured. It's hard to get an exact colour match because pigments behave differently in different paint formulas.

I assume you're talking about the wheel arches? What's worked for me is, once you've got everything roughly in place, give the car mode a gentle squeeze from end-to-end to make sure all the parts are snug, and the thighs especially are fully compressed. That seems to close the gaps up as best as possible. I don't think I've ever managed to get those front wheel arches lined up seemlessly. I'm assuming it's probably just minor misalignment issues caused by the layer of paint all over this guy.

What type of paint is used on TF’s, lacquer?

Anyways, you’re correct, but sometimes colors have specific names ... real cars have company color names or codes, or there is the pantone system, which isn’t really part of hobby paints, but you know what I mean.

    I'm assuming it's a type of lacquer.

The exact names of the paints are only a thing if it's intended for consumer distribution. Otherwise, I'm sure they're just numerical values in a database somewhere. Pretty sure the Pantone values are only applicable if you're using the exact same equipment/paint formula. They're not calibrated for anything else.

Actually with DHL I got my amazon JP orders in 2 days. They also make time back since Japan is ahead in timezone. Did you check the tracking number?

It might come the day after since they need your signature to make the delivery. Does tracking show it already returned? That seems unlikely.

Ha - thanks! Notice that Bumblebee is tilting his head away from Prime...

Aw thanks, man! You mean side tilt on Prime? Yessir. It’s inspired a few jokes in this thread but it honestly didn’t look so extreme in person. The camera tends to exaggerate. Still, poor Bumblebee haha...
