V2 meaning a white OP with a trailer that can become the armour...like the G1 figure.
if the siege line can do it...

I mean I didn’t think the Siege one was that good. If Takara could make it work and to an actually good standard I’d be down. I just thought the reason they didn’t put Magnus inside was so it could be a better action figure. But then it wasn’t and I got confused.

I am waiting on a factory leak and an early video review to see if the leg ratchets got a redesign or not; it is still the one major flaw that the figure gets dinged on. It does not change my mind that much about the figure; it just saves me from having to put the fix in place. Really surprised that there is no 3rd party leg fix out yet for MP-44.

To be honest I’ll be surprised if they change the leg design because it works fine for most people including myself. They may try to fix the part tolerances to make sure they work on a higher percentage of figures.

Having said that the stock pics for this version have the knees bending in a way that shouldn’t be possible with the existing design so maybe they did change it. We will see I guess.

No worries! It should come back up at some point. I hope.

probably the best price as their parcels don't get hit with customs fee's :)  i paid £142.42 and once the shipping is paid and added it should end up being around £168 to the uk

"edit" how did you get it for 179 when it has been 187 usd from the start with them ?

i found they are custom fee magnets stopped buying from them ages ago just like hlj

i personally don't collect anything but masterpiece and original or reissue G1 figures. I continue to hope one day this happens. I saw that UM siege figure. certainly not my thing but they went for that white OP and trailer armour which just makes me have faith one day it will come true for Masterpiece.

Honestly, with the MP44 knee issue specifically, a 3rd party fix would cost more than its worth; the 4-5 drops of glue is a lot faster and cheaper. More importantly it allows the leg to function as intended, which is less hands on than, say, the Hotrods' dbl knee joints.

I hope they dont give up on the gimick, (hoping i dont eat those words). If it wouldve worked day one, it would've been like, "whoooa, AND they thought of that". Buuuut instead, fresh out the box with a knee injury like a athletic protege 1st day in the pros w bad karma. Hopefully they dont drop the ball this time.

Noooow, with that BACKPACK; I dont mind it as is, however, if someone decided to do something about thaaaat....

Yeah they usually fix the tolerances for future figures. And especially if they’re gonna retool this the moulds will need to be strong to avoid degradation.

Wait they don’t move like that? I though they were just mistransformed.

If the MP-44 knees are working properly you cannot bend the lower knee joint before the upper knee joint. And in the pics for MP-49 it looks like both joints are being bent at the same time. Which means they either changed the design to allow that or that 49 in the pics has two broken knees.

I'm thinking it was possibly redesigned to move as you say, maybe the knee-lock gimmick from MP-44 was done away with on MP-49.

Hopefully the upper shoulder-collarbone pivot has been addressed well, the issue with the ratchet teeth wearing down fast.

I’ll take your word for it. I hope this means a safer knee assembly.

It’s stuff like this which makes me weary for preorders.

I’m kind of tempted. I was fine with missing out on regular Op, but this mold has a lot of personality and it looks stylish as hell in black. Might stick an Autobot symbol on him and pretend he’s Dark Guard Optimus:

Not the best pic but that’s a beautiful deco in hand. I hope they skip the leopard print etc repaints down the line for the V3 and give us some classy black and muted gold.

An ocean labels set to give some extra decals to spice him up would be really nice.

If he’s improved after the MP-44 mould I’d say it’ll be worth it.

This figure is still not back up for sale on Amazon Japan. I assumed it was a glitch but it’s been a while so I emailed them to ask if it’s coming back. They said it’s currently sold out but they may get more stock and re-list later. I was surprised because this doesn’t normally happen with MPs on Amazon.

I prefer ordering from AJ but now I’m wondering if I should order from somewhere else in case they don’t get more stock. But it seems crazy that they won’t get more by July. I also noticed that the Sunstreaker reissue coming in May seems to be sold out already on Nippon Yassan. Is Takara reducing the production runs on some figures or are these isolated incidents?

Is there someone from Ontario that could let me know what their current price is on Amazon Japan so I have something to comparison shop with? Thanks!

Huh that’s weird. Maybe I’ll go with the AmiAmi order.

Is it true this Black Convoy even without the trailer weighs the same as the regular MP-44? How is this plausible?
