I can never post in these threads because I'm a Jew and Jews don't get gifts apparently.

I believe my eldest nephew will love his Christmas present: neon red and neon blue Nintendo Switch with Super Smash Bros Ultimate and Luigi's Mansion 3

    Big time Luigi fan.

Could use some Christmas gift advice. Was at my dad's for Thanksgiving, and noticed a Lego Yoda's Hut box sitting on a shelf slightly out of sight. There's a pretty good chance it's a gift for me, there's one nephew who likes Lego, but the way my dad's family does things usually the kids only get gifts from the family of other kids, and I don't think any of my step mom's family members like lego either. I'm not worried about a surprise being ruined, the problem is that I only collect Star Wars vehicles, I don't have any interest in something like Yoda's hut. Is there any acceptable way to tell my dad I saw it, and that if it's a gift for me, I wouldn't really be interested? Being 24, I tend to not get more than one or two toy related gifts, mainly just stuff for my dorm, so I'd hate to have the one hobby thing I get not even be one I want. Sorry if this sounds whiny

No, dude, there isn't any way to not look like a douche and possibly hurt your dad's feelings except for you to just accept it and thank him. You can always sell it later. This is what grownups have to do ALL the time.

Being as I have a surgery coming up soon and also hurt my back a couple weeks ago, I have decided to forego my regular decorations this year and bought these three guys. Kudos to anyone who recognizes the middle one. :D

Ha, I figured. I haven't said anything. I realized that no matter what the outcome is, I totally come across shitty. At the very least, if it is for me I appreciate him still trying to get me stuff like that.

It is pretty cool that your dad is still supporting your geekiness. Mine never did (especially not Transformers).

It's still possible it's for a kid of one of my step mom's friends or family members. I'll report back in a couple weeks. At least one of my parents still do generally get something hobby related for Christmas though, usually my dad. My mom and stepmom are a bit more focused on getting me practical stuff. It's sometimes useful, but not nearly as exciting. I know they're trying to help me out though, encourage me to keep my dorm more organized and stuff like that

There won't be a Christmas haul for me this year - my Mac Book died suddenly in September, and my wife and I agreed that I should splurge on any new computer I wanted (I chose a 27" iMac) and It would be for both my birthday and Christmas.

I got my swag on at TFCon DC two months ago in the form of some 3P Stunticon MPs! I have a very understanding wife who will wrap them up for me to open on the morning of the 25th (Don't want to use the C-word)

Merry Winter themed not-necessarily religious or spirituality based (and if it is religious or spirituality based, not necessarily judeo-christian or male dominated deity based, which shall not infringe on your right to believe in a concept of a higher being or lack thereof) celebration!

    Hopefully that's more inclusive!
