Gewalt is great! i only wish Springer's own sword was as cool looking, its fairly simple compared to the Dinobots or Blitzwings sword

That’s why he’s got the trident to compensate.

It kinda sucks that his might be the best mold MMC has ever made and it's the only mold they refuse to repaint. MMC, you have to be able to do something more with this. I'm willing to buy it at least one more time if you retooled it into another character. At LEAST one more time.

He’s not exactly got the most appeal. I mean I’d like a Marvel Comics version but I doubt it.

Sadly, it's not Jabber/Rouge/Apache that's the different Fans Toys. That's the norm for FT, and it's Roadking and Spoiler* that are the different FT. For the last year or so, basically since Phoenix, Fans Toys has reliably put out figures that look nice on a shelf, with lots of gorgeous paint and diecast heft, but they're over-engineered with transformations that range from not awful, but not really fun either to I'd rather smash the figure with a brick than transform it again. Many of them have some sort of clearance issues involved in the transformation, and at least a few have had issues with the transformation scratching the paint. One or two (Apache springs to mind) have had articulation issues.

*Just my opinion, but Maverick is somewhere in between- he's not a huge pain to transform, he doesn't have scratching paint or clearance issues, but I do still think he's a tad over-engineered with too much exposed diecast, plus he's got limited waist, shoulder, and ankle articulation.

I disagree with this. He's has two runs and I believe the second run is on the verge of selling out, as the few places I've looked only one of them had it in stock. Springer was big deal in the third season, and besides that this mold is awesome and fun. I just think MMC's got so many sure fired sellers coming out (Combaticons, DJD, Cassettes and Deathasaurus among others) that a retool of this is just low priority right now.

I guess that’s more what I mean, low priority. Also I just don’t see anyone chanting validly for X retool, also probably cause there’re very few ideas.

It was just a thought, but y'know how Hasbro (or more accurately, Guido Guidi) made a G1-ish Barricade for Siege? I was thinking that Hasbro could give Blackout the same treatment with a Springer repaint. I'm not sure MMC would do something like that on their own, but if Hasbro did it first...

I'd say don't do that to Blackout. He's a leader. And he's no triple changer.

Yeah I just don’t see much of any other figures from him, apart from a comic version or maybe Battletrap.

I just ordered Saltus from BBTS. I hope he's as good as all the hype.

I'll vouch for Saltus. Great figure that's as good to look at as it is to play around with. XTBs version had better be pretty spectacular to beat this one.

I’ll add my voice to the choir. He was one of my favorite things right out of the box. Perfect blend of good materials, articulation, good looks, engineering, good transformation, with the only compromises being minimal ones to the alt modes.

I love everything about this figure. Materials, build and tolerances, engineering. Out of the box, its one of the most satisfying purchases I've made. Even the changes to alt mode were for the better, and actually improves the distinct profile between car and helicopter.

This one looks quite good but I am waiting for Virtus, because Saltus is quite heavy and it doesn't have strong joints... So it's a pass for me.
