What's up with the human-looking collagen-injected lips? Where's the hard angles on what's supposed to be a robot's face? Rest looks amazing.... face looks like a Ken doll.

Nah the face looks fine. Even in the cartoon the sometimes had lips. He just needs 2 more lines. One on bot sides of his face.

Like his cartoon counterpart on page one of this thread.

It's even better, it looks like g1 Mirage, both toy and toon. Awesome to finally have that option innit!!

I'm liking the look of this in both modes. Will wait for some color added to make a final decision to get him or not.

I like the face a lot, but I hope for a smirk or goofy happy face option as well.

Alt mode looks fine to me, and only secondary to the bot mode which is most important.

articulation looks good, but I need to see more.

BUT you gotta get that Takara or even better, the Fanstoys paint level, and be compatible paint wise with Takara Sunstreaker or original datsuns, or if not, at least FT Spoiler level as a minimum.

I am sincerely happy for you. Options are good, regardless what they look like. Hopefully it comes with a parachute as well.

It looks good and certainly match well the new MP aesthetic, particularly important for a character Takara might never be able to do due to licensing problems. My only concern is that the backpack might hinder the waist swivel. Personally I already have the MMC version and I think it's still a good figure so I don't think I'm going to upgrade, but who knows.

Given TE's prime has a dull, paint free finish (I still really like my TE Prime overall), I'm curious if they'll up their game with further "G1 MP" releases...

It's a beautiful bot, but I'm not whelmed either way by the alt mode. MMC Sphinx is still the gold standard as far as I'm concerned.

I'll watch reviews. Buy the clear version first then maybe go back and get the regular version.

Here is my edit for him. I edited the face a bit. I wanted to get it to look more like him, and give him a bit of a smirk to add character. I tried to make some of it look glossy and metallic, cause I hope they go full out with chrome and glossy paint on him.

Try giving him more pronounced cheek lines, I bet it'd make a big difference:

I did. I made the angles in his face match the lines in the cartoon. If you look, I changes the cheeks from the original. If I remember, I widened the face, made the chin smaller, made the cheeks match the lines on the toon (how I liked it anyway), changed the nose, and made the sides of the nose wider.

edit: oh yea, I made the face shorter overall as well.

Also for the face, Mirage has a specific eye shape and some lines coming down on his face. (note the eye shape)

Hey great Job!! I hope you don't mind, I added my own touch to your digibash, I took the cartoon and showed were the lines should be on the face, and the eye shape. Let me know what you guys think.

I think a slightly squished head, and the changes to the eyes and the lines added in, makes a perfect Mirage! I love this sculpt! I also like the mouth, it's perfect to me. just the head shape needs to be squished just a bit, and the eyes enlarged, and the lines added, and perfection, IMHO.

    @Iron Star
Here's the head sculpt you just need to change the face a bit and shorten it in the helmet, and make the eyes and lines and you're spot on bro!

I just FB messaged these to @Iron Star. Humbly asked about a face change and praised his amazing work!!

I like mine better to be honest. I think the lines make him look like he's crying or emonor something. Did you send him mine as well? Or just your edits?

Just the edits. But I can send yours too. Unless you want to? The FB link is in the post I did above. Use messenger. Well the lines can be sculpted in so they won't show up as prominent as my digibash. I think if they're sculpted in it won't be so bad. But they are there in the cartoon probably referencing the sculpted lines on his face

Ill send it over, thanks. I think the difference is in out interpretation of what the lines on the face represent in the toon. To me when I see the lines I interpret it as like a sharp angle in the metal on his face, not an actual depression/indentation on his face if that makes sense. So to me, mine does have the lines on his face just like on the toon.

I guess so. I recall other bots from TT having the sculpted lines in the face, so I was thinking that it would be the same here. But either way, I still think the eye shape needed to be bigger and adjusted.

This looks great. I get where you’re coming from as well @tk7261 but I do think the actual sculpted lines are more in line with what TT has been doing (ala Grapple and Bumblebee for example).

So my preference would be your digibash @skywarp-2 but with the lines a bit less prominent. I do think you captured the shape of the eyes really well though.
