What are everyone’s thoughts on Nightbird? I’m interested in picking it up as one of the last few in my Decepticon line up but I’m not entirely sold right now.

 

So far I honestly prefer the alt mode for displaying, but then I haven't had time to pose her really. She's not great for that is my initial take. Maybe try a YouTube review to see what's achievable in that regard?

I just picked her up and am really loving the look. I was debating on which to get Siege or Legends. I already have the Legends Arcee so I didn’t need a second of that mold and I think the Siege Chromia body being more blocky or mechanical seems to really suit Nightbird. I love the alt mode too! Looks built for stealth!

 

I really want to get those effects for Bluestreak. Seems like a perfect effect for a rifle that is supposed to shoot electric bolts.

 

Finally got around to painting Barricade's forearms and my handle extensions for Smashdown.

 

Yesterday is far from a good day for me, with my dumb self accidentally cut my left index finger and thumb, to the point where stitching surgery is required and needed to stay one night at hospital...

This white bot here is the only reason I'm not fully bored to tears during the stay yesterday.

Here’s Spinister with Shrute/Hairsplitter and Fracas standing in for Singe until I can find him.

 

The name is Streak.

Bluestreak.

Does this not look like something James Bond would drive? Bluestreak looks like he just rolled off the Cybertronian show floor.


That is one sexy chassis. Sleek and elegant, just like James Bond. Bluestreak is the super-luxury sport version of this mold and he wears it oh so well. The use of paint on this figure is so methodic and efficient, it’s downright delicious. The glossy grey finish with the nice black stripe down the middle, the very nice chrome wheels, the flash of red tail lights on the back and streaks of silver for the headlights, and the placement of the Autobot symbol on the hood make Bluestreak look like the ‘Bentley’ of the Datsun brothers.

And seriously......, something James Bond would drive. And like James Bond, Bluestreak cuts quite the dashing figure.

Just...., damn! Who knew this mold could look this damn good?! Magic happens in bot mode with this striking flash of red in his limbs and torso. It is a beautiful, elegant shade of red that brilliantly offsets and highlights the rest of his frame and color scheme. I know this mold wasn’t made just for him, but Bluestreak makes this mold.


Bluestreak may be a bot of peace, but he’s no slouch in battle. Armed with his acid rifle and volt-beam shoulder mounted cannons, he can be very effective. He can wear down the enemy with his words and his weapons. They really add a certain flair to his look too (James Bond).

Bluestreak only goes at a mile-a-minute to hide a deeper sorrow. Being the only survivor of his city that was destroyed by the Decepticons has left him with feelings of rage, guilt, vengeance, and a yearning for peace. All of the chatter and the flash just hides deep-seated pain. So I say let the guy talk if it helps him cope with the war around him. And seriously, he’s just like James Bond. You like deep-seated pain masked by flash, watch any Daniel Craig ‘Bond’ film (‘Skyfall’ is masterful).


But, I digress. Bluestreak is easily the best use of this mold. The lack of Cybertronian letters on the car frame help, but the alt mode is so slick and minimal compared to the other ‘Datsuns’ making Bluestreak the jewel of the show. Everything about this figure feels much more meticulous and efficient compared his mold mates. Bluestreak is beautiful in his simplicity of style and complexity of character. This figure only solidifies further that Bluestreak has always been, and still is, my favorite of the Datsun brothers.

【Incoming】Ratchet Studio ROS-010 Upgrade Kit for Siege Barricade / Prowl / Smokescreen / Bluestreak (Hip Extensions / Propellers )
Another upgrade kit for Prowl molds. Took me a while to get what they're trying to do. Comes with a arm shield thingie, 2 hip extensions, and 2 jet propulsion units. As this is from Ratchet studios, they don't paint their stuff, so the plastic colors may not match.

The arm thingie doesn't make a lot of sense to me in robot mode but is used to attach their kit in alt mode.

The hip extensions will make the bot taller. Will need to be taken off for alt mode, though. The hip extensions combine with the jet propulsion units in alt mode. Weapons can plug into this.

The jet propulsion units can be used to beef up the empty calf areas.

Main negative is that the hip extensions have to be removed for transformations.

 

The finale battle is coming... War for the Smittyverse.

 

I'm all for upgrade kits, but this one is pretty terrible. They don't need to be made taller at all. Also the alt boosters look super clunky. Very easy pass.

 

Nope.
I'd have preferred it but odds are he'll be a ER Wheeljack mold mate.
