To be honest, I've lost all investment in Freedom Leader due to one major problem...
TransCraft Optimus is probably going to trash it, both in bot mide, and vehicle mode.
P.S. - Knightverse Optimus is my favorite design for the character, while I wish he was smoother with less pipes and pistons everywhere, he still captures the power of a prime.

But the partsforming or fake parts may be a price for it
For now I wouldn't hold my breath until they release at least one figure.

Fake parts are the only way to get a perfect bot mode, that is a given; people who subconsiously throw a fit because a figure doesn't use the real part from vehicle mode is being unrealistic; although, partsforming for a regular figure is just lazy engineering. Partforming is only acceptable in combiners, and large winged beastformers.

Yeah, don't care for fake parts. Some of it I can forgive, especially on a Bay-movie transformer. But even then, it's only on the small little spots that are meant to be vehicle-mode parts in the abs, or that random fender spot on the leg, etc.

When you start doing major vehicle parts as fake on the bot mode, I check out. Especially in figures this big. I'll take some compromises in the look of the bot mode to avoid that, and good designers will get it more than close enough (as in, so far with this guy, I think they have--and well enough to give us options).

Fake parts may also be a sign of lazy engineering too :lol  My point is - don't get to excited before they even released their Mohawk which is rumored to be a partsformer - with little to justify it by the look of the figure.

Personally I think that the most accurate figure till de date is 3A Prime, but it's expensive and a non-transformable figure. BUT if you want a real Transformer bigger tan MPM scale, Toyworld seems the best option in despite of the truck mode. Sometimes you have to sacrify something if you want the best Bot mode. ToyWorld seems to be thought to give the best bot mode in a transformable figure.

Everytime I see the renders of BB Prime, Soundwave or Shockwave I get the mental image of female weightlifters. Probably because of the thick thigh areas on all of them.

The body shape of the 3A nails that look. TW on the other hand looks like it goes with a body shape more reminiscent of classic hero proportions with more straight lines.

I think if the figures pictured had blue light reflecting off of the chest windows they'd look a lot closer. You have to consider lighting if you're gonna be THAT picky.
I think that's just a symptom of having to transform into something boxy. But they did a decent job unlike that fire one that looks boxy as hell.

So, how should characters like Sunstreaker, Bumblebe, or Cliffjumper get a different roof as a chest to the shape and size it was in vehicle mode; lazy engineering is when a figure is designed in a way that has many appearent flaws due to being under engineered, two figures that come to mind are MS-01, and TW-F09, both could have had better truck beds, but the designers chose to leave them where they are.

Well for bumblebee, cliffjumper, and sunstreaker, you do realize your are basing your assumptions off what a toy should look like on a 35 year old cartoon that is littered with flaws and inconsistencies in every single episode. Its the definition of lazy animation. Their bodies look the way they did because of 'reasons'. Now a days with CGI and modeling, you can actually say 'ok thats the hood and then this becomes the body' and it lines up. Back then, it was basically 'what might this car look like if i folded it in half....sure close enough.

Trying to have toys fit this aesthetic leads to the new MP bumblebee which i personally think looks like trash. panels on the legs, feet, back, side, an ugly back pack, and footpack(??? is that a word)... it only looks good head on. I know some people like it, and thats their opinion. I do like the new head/face sculpt and the leg proportions on it, but i feel the original MP could have been tweaked with those and i would be far happier then this new mess.

To me, trying to use a 35 year old cartoon as 'accurate' source material is silly if it leads to a toy that looks good from 1 angle only. Thats why we have 2 big factions of dinobots. in the cartoon they are all Gigapower sized compared to optimus, but on the 'sunbow' chart they are all fanstoy sized.

    IT IS NOW.

Seriously though the movie designs do bend and warp some parts which makes them physically impossible to do in a toy. It’s why MPM Ironhide has a faux bumper on his chest or why no knight prime figure could ever have the actual truck hood become his chest.

I wasn't saying go 100% cartoon accurate, if I was going full on G1 I'd say TE-01 is the gateway, but I'm not, I'm taking a more modern route, like that of MP-44; Masterpiece G1 figures should match the cartoon to a degree, but should be updated to a more dynamic sculpt. MP-45 is trash, garbage, the filth from New York's sewers, but I'd still take it over MP-21 due to the fact that it's front silhouette is more G1 accurate, I'm also against Bumblebee being a chubbster. When concerning a hood becoming a chest, for say, Sideswipe, the only way to gat a proper proportionate chest is to use a fake hood, for Sunstreaker, you need to use an alternate piece due to his chest being the size it is.

It's possible to make some parts to bend, such part have to be made of a softer plastic with an articulated skeleton underneath to aid the soft plastic part to maintain its new shape.

Wait, are we talking Travis Knight Prime or Knight Prime as in AOE/TLK? If the latter, are you saying his red pectorals are his truck hood and doors?!

    Good argument :)
TLK Prime. His moobs are part hood part doors and all sorts of nonsensical cause they’re segmented and warped.
