I don't know, that helicopter always looked pretty alien to me, with these neon colors, visible fists and a cockpit underneath

Today's surprise is with Astrotrain, he actually has ankle pivots.

It's so well done that I didn't see it and was wondering why as he was the first Siege figure that didn't have such. I had tried but at the wrong location, it's in the actual foot itself and not at the connecting spot.

And video reviews I watched either didn't show or mention it, of flat out stated themselves that there was none, so that did not help.

So in case anyone else fell into that trap, Astrotrain does have very well hidden ankle tilt and gains extra points!

yup, mine came "unlocked" in the box , and it was a bit scary to do it the first time as it's really thight, but it does make it so much better, otherwise the arms just flip-flop around.
And ensuring that you get the arms in proper position during transformation can also be a bit tricky the first couple of times.

LOVELY post but I'm not wrong tho. His alt is still fairly stylized compared to the 1st wave of Earthrise.

Last night I got Red Rumble (Frenzy) and Ratbat. They now join the spy patrol with Soundwave. Here is some appreciation and a bonus action pose.

    20191205_064500.jpg 20191205_064549.jpg 20191205_064642.jpg 20191205_065144.jpg

    *NOTES:
    • My Rumble has VERY stiff joints in his legs for me. It is so bad that the pin in his right leg (our left) chose to pop out instead of turning. The other leg is fine. However, the ball joint on the same knee is ALSO super tight and even when lose, I had the hardest time moving it. It took a lot of doing to fix the pin, yet it continues to pop out. I have to pinch and apply force to do anything with him.
    • As you may know, those two do not fit well into Soundwave. They should have been 2% smaller or something.
    • They also make terrible "shield" alt modes because of which side the peg is on.
    • Unlike Laserbeak, Ratbat's feet are NOT designed to sit on Soundwave's arm. Its peg also does not allow it to sit on Megatron's arm either. It doesn't stand well on its own either.

All of that being said, I like how rumble looks in bot mode. Ratbat has potential to look a lot better with a wash and some paint. I am thinking yellow eyes to pop against the purple head, gold detail on the ears, and silver to the wing areas.

For now, the best use I have for Ratbat is to hide in Soundwave's chest. His purple and black help the Decepticon logo and battle damage really pop!
