I'm cautious about looking towards TE to fill gaps in the G1 MP line because, if I recall correctly, of all the masterpiece Optimus Primes their's was the tallest. So there's the risk that everything they produce might be a slightly different scale from others.

I just had an epiphany while reading your post: I think we might be taking this hobby too seriously.

This looks great. I had been getting ready to purchase Sphinx, so now I will wait for this from TE. Very cool.

    Nope, you recall incorrectly.

It's a common fallacy for some reason. All the MP Primes are nigh on identical height wise. Mp10 included. They're just different builds/bulk. Only ones that are bigger are Toyworld, MP01 and Mpp10. Toyworld are the ones that seem to do their own scale, maybe you're mixing them up?

First comparison I saw on Google Images.

Strange. To me MS-01 looks slightly bigger then mp-10 and TE-01 looks slightly bigger then MS-01

There's probably less than 5mm between all antennae tops and even less between te01 and ms01, like I said nigh on identical heights and nothing that's gonna throw any sense of scale off. The pic I posted shows that, no need to get hung up on that kind of minuscule difference.

It's like ppl who can't see past xtb Menasor being 1cm shorter than Zeta combiners. When put into perspective of half a metre it's insignificant.

Just wait for V3 of this mould to get the proper head and ratchets.

If they are a few mm different, I would prefer that. It gives the bots individuality, rather than having their heights all be in precise, discrete height levels.

TE (well ironstar is it?) is killing it. Sphinx was good but he always for some reason has a slightly puffed up marshmallow man look. this guy's overall proprtions and location of joints is spot on to the mental image I have or mirage. I've of mixed feelings about the fake simplified engine knees and that his feet are nobkinger the spoiler... Maybe I love g1 mirage too much. Lol. TE prime was awesome...one of my favorite TF ever...unfortunately it's clever transformation sacrificed the thigh swivel. (ab crunch I couldn't care too much about but it's beat I guess in modern figs) and ratchet teeth count was an evolving process. Let's hope they iron things out before the first release. BTW the heas sculpt is better than mmc as well. I say all this is a sphinx fan that owns 3 decos....alternate, red, and the disappearing one.

This came out of nowhere. So glad someone else is taking a shot at this. I hope they give him real chrome parts. Proportions look awesome!

None of my bots are in the same pose so that helps make their heights appear to be various enough already.

I'm happy enough with Sphinx, I'm in no rush to replace him.

Well, well, well, that was unexpected.

I'm trying to avoid the swap out game but this may well be better enough to tempt me. If its painted too its a done deal.
