Here's hoping that we get a Deluxe converting Roller to go in ER Optimus's trailer.

Otherwise, I'm just gonna use the T30TH Targetmaster Roller that came with T30th Legends Optimus.

Part of me thinks we'll get a special american release of Wandering Roller (from galvatronus unite warriors pack) based on the NYCC display.

 

that was confirmed as a no at nycc, someone brought roller from their own collection to put in the display and when asked the response hasbro people gave was that someone brought it from home and it wasnt indicative of a western release, just like the siege sideswipe in the display

 

I think the point was that his vehicle mode has always been an earth mode...?

So he was very much based on a cross between a Dome Zero and a Lamborghini Countach and was meant to be a mass produced earth vehicle in 2005 from the POV of the 80s folks working on the show.

Likewise, Rodimus Prime was a mass produced camper in the show’s future setting and there’s a scene where someone mistakes an ordinary, identical flame decal camper for Rodimus Prime.

We have never seen what Hot Rod looked like on Cybertron and it’s an unanswered question whether Kup, Arcee, Springer, or Blurr had been reformatted for Earth.

Well, Siege answered that (for its own continuity anyway) by establishing that Ultra Magnus WAS reformatted for Earth (which he’d have to be) and Springer was not.

The only definitely Cybertronian mode Rodimus we have seen before was in Energon and the only Cybertronian mode Hot Rod was in the last Transformers vs. G.I.Joe comic where, as memory serves, he was a small transport vehicle whose function was moving hot metal rods (which explains why he had such an Earth culture specific name; in theory his name has nothing to do with being a sports car).

In any case, I’m not a total fan of any of his CHUG robot modes. TR and PotP both did some things right and some things wrong.

In general, I think PotP feels a bit fiddly and weak on articulation but has good body proportions aside from undersized arms and a back flap and TR has good playability but gorilla proportions. Classics has a decent balance but isn’t up to modern toy standards.

PotP is also too big and I think he works better if you pretend he’s Rodimus Prime in a detachable car mode, which he’s had in recent Japanese media. I was hoping Takara would do a light retool and redeco which treats the smaller mode as Rodimus Prime. That gets around some of the color clash in Supermode.

I’m looking — ideally — for wrist rotation, thigh rotation, waist rotation, ankle tilt, and a clean backpack with nothing hanging off with Hot Rod at Deluxe size or Rodimus Prime at Voyager size in Robot mode.

 

E. J. Su's -ation era designs are criminally underrated, I'd love to see an Earthrise Hot Rod based on this art. I'd also love to see a smaller Deluxe (like the upcoming Cliffjumper) Bumblebee based on Su's version, especially if they can make his alt mode as similar to a VW Beetle as possible.

I had discounted the thought but is it possible we’re getting an Ultra Magnus from that mold?

This is a preview with Siege Optimus of how that would work. Oddly, perhaps, the trailer isn’t something that would take much retooling. It’s Optimus who needs the retooling and I think those clips might secure the legs.

 

but why would they do that so soon, magnus doesn't feel like a character they would do right after a previous one, that's usually reserved for the a-listers, it also would be kinda boring to me,

They might have a 2021 35th Magnus in mind.

 

Since we are getting a new (and better IMO) Astrotrain, I wonder how hopeful I can be for a new (and better) Blitzwing?

 

Given that we have what seems to be a very new, very toy friendly design for Octane, I’d say it feels likely. I think any triple changer is a candidate.

What about the 84 cars? I hope we get the rest of them in this line, last time I checked we only needed Wheeljack, Trailbreaker, Sunstreaker, and Jazz. Wheeljack is confirmed and Trailbreaker will probably be soon. So really, there's only two to go. I also hope to get Brawn, Windcharger, and Gears, but I'm getting my hopes up at that point.

 

While I know that it would appease those who would want a WFC Magnus to have an Earth mode,it would be far too soon especially since Siege Magnus does a lot to evoke the classic character in both his toy and show versions. If they do somehow I do wish by that time they'll give us a Delta Magnus/Powered Convoy repaint from the mold if we're not getting one from the Siege mold. Not to mention that if they're using the mold from Earthrise as Magnus's core robot his trailer ought to convert him to Commander Class if they aren't going the partsforming route they went in Siege too.

 

I’m down for an Earthrise Ultra Magnus based off the Earthrise Optimus mold.

Redo all the triplechangers too!

We will get Sunstreaker too and he’ll look fine next to Siege Sideswipe.

Magnus isn’t Commander-sized relative to any other characters, though. What is a larger G1 Magnus supposed to display with?

I love Ultra Magnus and have zero interest in anything bigger than Siege in CHUG.

I’m not sure it would happen SOON, I just think those clips are for an armored figure that could be over a year out.

They could theoretically be for a PM Prime retool at Commander scale but I don’t think you’d need clips on the back of the legs for that style of combination.

 

What I was getting at with a potential Earth mode Ultra Magnus for commander class is more about taken in Hasbro's direction for certain characters being sized different then before so in Leader classes's case it's more about the parts count and gimmicks rather then size. So the reason I suggested Commander for Magnus is that it would allow him to take the proper size and amount of parts he needs for a non partsformery armor combination. Sort of like how Shockwave in Siege was Leader class for him having armor for a Voyager sized core mold. I hope that explains what I'm saying here but I could be wrong at the end.
