No, it's the X version, the 'perfect edition' one.

 

No major QC issues. Only one broken thumb joint on Mixmaster, the thumb keeps falling off. Already asked my retailer for a replacement part.

Also had some trouble with one shoulder pad on Hook. Too tight tolerance on the peg, that connect it to his back. Needed 15 minutes of filing to make it fit.

No problems otherwise, however I did lubricate some joints to make them work smoother.

 

Those aren’t terrible, especially compared to what people have gotten in previous releases, like misassembled parts and such. Like others, I am slightly baffled that a “perfect” edition wouldn’t come with all the accessories and options (green thighs and barrel mostly) but overall this looks like a set worth getting, especially for the folks who missed the earlier green releases. Thanks for sharing the photos and info!

 

Anyone else have issues with the clips on Scavenger's threads getting stressed and giving out over time? I have the regular yellow set and I'm out of replacement thread parts for Scavenger but have never had to use a single one for Bonecrusher.  

If anyone is willing to sell me some of their spare Scavenger thread pieces, preferably for the yellow set, I'd really appreciate it!

 

Man, I still cant get over the grey legs.... I have had my on preorder for over a week and been putting off paying for the remainder. Why couldn't they just be green.

 

Don't you just love TW. They make something so simple extremely complicated. It's as if to say here is a version for those of you who missed out on the first run, but we still think it can't be like the first one because it's improved (so they say) so it has to be a different color. OMG....

 

I cancelled my order this morning. I'll probably regret it but it seems rather cheap to not offer the green thighs at this point. They look like they are sold out just about everywhere so can't even get them separately atm.

 

This is exactly the Devastator I wanted. I don’t know why it’s so hard to just include green thighs for you guys.

I will say if these came with green thighs and not silver, I wouldn’t have bought it 

 

I'm lightweight annoyed that I bought a Version 2 Boxed set and also gambling that Toyworld won't release a Green Set with a non-chrome Purple parts earlier this year. Not having Green Thighs is a deal breaker for me though so I guess there's that. I'm happy for those who bought the latest edition though cause it looks great.

 

Gray thighs seems to be a problem for many fans, and it's understandable. But no one ever complained about its knees that have been purple instead of green since it came out the for the first release. Why?

Also, part of the torso should be purple as well, but no one ever complained about that; just for the thighs. That's strange.



As far me, I would be perfectly happy with the Old Green as it is... if ever they put it out!

 

I’ve been thinking of getting this set and seeing if my v2’s thighs match and swap them out Then I can break down my v2 into individual bot modes for display.

The pic below is the perfect edition to me. Though it’s a custom. I don’t know why they can’t Just do one like this. The purple knees have always bothered me.

I think the problem is that the G1 cartoon Devastator doesn't have knees or thighs at all. Scraper and Mixmaster are the whole legs, and then there is a purple something just below the waist.
I guess ToyWorld took this purple something as knees, plus they added missing thighs. Otherwise the figure would look stupid.

Actually I know, that the purple thing below the waist is the leg connector from G1 toy, so if you ask me, that are the whole thighs, if anything, that should be purple in cartoon.

I would say more purple hip skirt than thighs. As good as this thing looks, that tiny barrel on mixmaster kills it for me. Throws the whole thing off.

 

If you google Devastator there aren’t many pics WITH silver thighs BUT these two are from Wikipedia and Fandom so maybe that’s why Toyworld did it. They’re growing on me.

Yeah, it seems TW was going for toy accuracy with many of the choices they made. I believe the heads of the individual guys are toy inspired as well.

 

I mixed some paint and matched the color to paint his knees. You're right, it was bothersome, at least to me. I guess a good way to add purple is to paint the upper thighs and the front part of the his crotch to simulate the purple piece between his waist and upper legs. Had to mix paint to match the original color to paint his crotch. I haven't painted his upper thighs thought because I ran out of the purple I mixed. I'll post pic of mine tonight. He turned out pretty good imo.

 

I have the opposite problem, I like the gray legs more cause it makes the whole figure more colour separation, instead of being all green and purple, and I am stuck with the original boxed set with only green legs  
I am thinking of selling my original set and buy this one.

 

If you are looking for silver thighs upgrade set I believe that robotoybase.com still has them in stock.

 

Thank you, I checked the store, but with shipping they will cost a whopping 76$, for 4 pieces of plastic, I guess it's really not worth the cost...
