Here's the most recent thread regarding the Studio Series. Not one single negative comment about Bayformers. Now look at the dozens of hate filled posts directed at G1, in this thread. Yeah, I guess that it's the G1 fans that are the bad ones, huh? Studio Series Wave 5 Deluxe Soundwave Bee Camaro; Hot Rod WW2 and Bike Sisters out in Malaysia
Again try looking into any other TF thread that isn't Studio Series related and it's the exact opposite.
I voted Red Alert for favorite siege toy. I really love the Sideswipe mold, and Red Alert\'s deco just makes it better for me; I\'ve always had a soft spot for the actual character too. I would\'ve said Jetfire, but I\'ve always just been attracted to deluxes more than anything.
Aww, cannot pick Beachcomber. Skywarp, Sludge or Mirage I guess. Would any of them have a chance? For siege it's easily Flywheels/Skytread, for me and should be for you too.
You're not getting it. The original post was talking about stopping G1 fanwank, which is a valid observation because again, Hasbro is resting on their laurels. Your response was that if you don't like it, go find another hobby, which is not the correct response because the franchise is also, more than G1. There wasn't any hate toward G1, but a statement on the over saturation of said generation. The response is simply responses to your statement of "GTFO" as if G1 was all Transformers is. And again, while I don't approve of the poll, I get it. It's the 35th anniversary. It's "special."
Here's a thread on a recent Beast Wars related article. Sorry. Not seeing the mass hate like there is in this thread. Try opening your eyes. Beast Wars Masterpiece Blackarachnia MP46
Now you’re just putting words in my mouth. I never said that it was G1 fans that were the worst. You said that “it’s disrespectful to go into a G1 related thread and crap all over it.” You act like as if people don’t dunk on the other shows and movies. I’m sorry, but it just never ceases to amaze me at how much of a victim complex the G1 fans have. Saying that the brand is starting to become over saturated with G1 is not an attack on G1 at all. It’s an opinion (I’d argue that it’s kind of a fact, too) and you’re on a website where people give their opinions. I’m gonna use your logic. If you don’t like it, go find another website.
I voted Hauler for the same reason. Ultra Magnus was my siege toy of choice. Chunky boy is my favorite from the line.
People going into a studio series thread expect studio defies discussion. People going into a hall of fame thread aren't expecting the list to be forced into early g1 characters and like what, 2 UT iterations from Siege? No one is mad at g1, they're mad that Hasbro only knows how to pull off nostalgia
Anybody not voting for Hauler is a fake fan. In all seriousness, this is kind of a pathetic vote this year. You have more than just Siege released this year, why not have a multi-line nomination like years prior? And the constant G1 fanwank is just tiresome at this point. That's why I voted for Hauler even though there's lots of characters there that are more deserving. No better way to stick it to Hasbro then to vote for the literal who. My toy vote went to Siege Magnus as he's the only one out of the list both owned and felt was worthy.
I voted for Hauler. Not just so we can have another Erector moment, but so the chances of getting a constructicon green repaint of Grapple in the selects line get even better. As far as the toy vote, I voted Starscream because making a tetra jet that turns into a robot with F-15 kibble a reality was awesome. A shame they didnt pull a cybertronian Wheeljack and Bumblebee out their a** too, but oh well.
Next Year's Hall of Fame Categories: 1. Favorite G1 Optimus Prime toy 2. Favorite Character That Becomes a Yellow Volkswagen Bug
Went with Sunstreaker and Siege Soundwave, as Sunstreaker always had an interesting personality for an Autobot, and Soundwave is just one of the best Transformer Action Figures I have ever owned
Voted for Hauler in hopes of a Selects repaint at some point... Also voted for Jetfire because hello....Jetfire.
For my money, toy of the year is easily Studio Series Jetfire. A masterclass of a Transformer that annihilates the previous figure.
You are really misreading the tone of most of the posts in this thread. OK, so, this is the TF Hall of Fame vote, in past years the process has gone something like this: several TF fan sites allow their users to nominate potential inductees, once the voting period is up each site submits the results to Hasbro. Hasbro then collates that data and the five candidates with the most nominations are the finalists who we get to vote for. The old voting process meant any TF from G1 to Beast Wars, Armada to Bayformers could win, so the fact they've just gone "alright, here's your lot, if they weren't in More Than Meets the Eye part 1-3 then tough luck" this year is understandably pretty disappointing for some of us. This doesn't mean they hate G1, it's just, well, disappointment. Also I'm just gonna go ahead and point out that every Beast Wars Masterpiece announcement has been accompanied by complaints of Takara ignoring/forgetting about G1 and acting like they're pumping out BWMPs every few months (even when there was almost a year and a half between MP Cheetor and Dinobot with FIVE G1 MPs in-between, one of which was the fantastic MP-36 Megatron) as opposed to them coming out less frequently that their G1 counterparts, and some just straight up saying they shouldn't be doing Beast Wars Masterpiece at all "because they're not done with G1 yet". There are some G1 fans in this hobby who quite literally don't want to share their toys, while most of us who like G1 and other generations just want more diversity of TFs in a toyline called GenerationS.
