Does anybody have a copy who’s spider legs hold the weight of the body in spider mode?

 

That’s been most people it seems.

 

Got Blackarachnia in hand on Friday. Now that I've had a few days to mess with her... not really warming up to her. Her robot mode is almost perfect, but the spider mode suffers way more than I'd like to achieve that. It's good for what it is, but the kneecaps in particular stick out to me way more in person than I'd like. I wish they had found a way to hide those kneecaps and shins on the back of her abdomen and move the black thigh covers to the front so they'd blend in.

She also feels so... delicate, but in weird ways. I'll echo the sentiment that some of the plastic feels a lot like a Marvel Legends figure, which I don't mind, however I truly wish the legs felt like that as well. I wouldn't want them in soft plastic, but the existing legs do feel very stiff and fragile to me. I wouldn't have minded seeing them molded in metallic plastic, and I'm concerned as to how tightly they'll hold up after a while when the paint may start rubbing off the ball joints, as it's already fiddly to get her weight supported by the legs as is.

Accessories are great in general. Nothing I'd personally use, but they seem like they aren't just thrown in to be thrown in, aside from the stand. I'm sure there are exceptions, but I can't imagine anyone spending this much on a figure wouldn't spring for a stand separately if they truly wanted one for her. For the price, I'm just not super excited about Blackarachnia.

In terms of positives, the paint is absolutely superb, as with all Beast Wars MPs. Blackarachnia in particular is amazing, as she has so many small bits of color that would normally get skipped on non-MP designs. I don't personally like the patterns on the shins- I understand it, but I don't think it's objectively bad, it's just not for me.

In general, I think most of my complaints with her just stem from the fact that I display my Beast Wars MPs in beast mode, and hers is very compromised. I will say that I truly love the articulation on her spider head, though! Now that we have almost half the season 1 cast, I'm *really* hoping Takara finishes them off, or at the very least a third party figures out how to harness some of that black magic Takara has been using for them.

 

Lol def overpriced... Rattrap will probably be the same price/size

 

Anyone have a good way to get her head through the gap without rubbing the gold areas on the sides? No matter how much I fiddle with it, I can’t seem to find a good way and I have VERY slight chipping and don’t want it to get worse!

below the waist. that swivel locking joint that allows you to bend at the hips in gorilla mode. I pulled down a little to hard and it snapped. It still locks in place though thanks to a locking clip.

 

Those who feel arachnia is cheap feeling better leave the game before rattrap appears.

 

So I realized that there's not a proper guide on how to transform her, there's actually a bunch of tabs that you need to insert for spider mode. Also the anchor does indeed help with transformation

 

I know I’ll get some flack for this, but honestly I wouldn’t have minded if they would forgo just a bit of the show accuracy if it meant improved beast modes. Part of the appeal to me IS the animal alt modes, so I haven’t been so hot on them seemingly approached as an afterthought.

I don’t think Primal or Cheetor are that bad, and Megatron has the best beast mode by far.

Blackarachnia is by far the worst offender, but honestly Dinobot isn’t far behind as far as janky, compromised beast modes go.

‘But but Engineering, it’s as good as it can get, etc etc...’ ... Yeah, I know. But that doesn’t mean I have to pretend their alt modes look very good though. That being said, I keep ordering them, so...

 

So I got my Blackarachnia yesterday. I love the figure, but I got screwed with two faces with the green eyes.

Anyway...BA...The paint's already coming off the ball joints on her spider legs on mine.

And I just moved them slightly...a few times. 3-4/max

Just a warning for those using Siege effects. I used a purple one in the barrel of Siege Ultra Magnus' gun and after taking it out a few days later, it had silver paint on it. Must be some kind of chemical reaction.
