Seeing the color difference between Tallgeese III and III.

III is sort of an eggshell white, while II is a 'more pure white with this bluish glow to it.

the uneven shoulders throw me off. the softer plastics and frosted clear GN parts dont help either. but I like it. the second Sabre has more moving parts to create a hand guard when the daggers are removed not unlike the shield of the 007sword, and has parts to make a second set of sword bits in addition to a wrist mount for the shield. currently the shield is attached to the GN Drive for dialogs.

Looks pretty cool. but if you want the symmetrical shoulders, you're best cannibalizing a spare kit, or finding a way to even out the frosted GN bits with the pristine. Not a bad idea though.

speaking of 00 Q, turns ou Newtype's "advent" of the day is a BUNDLE: RGs Exia, 00, Qan, and the R3. No selective picking allowed. shame too because their asking price of $106 for all four, means the Exclusive R3 would be priced like a regular retail edition.

I wonder if the Barbatos will ever get a PG. This MG is tempting me...

It was inevitable, but I just bought Penelope.
USA Gundam store has it for $55 dollars marked down from $75, and their 15% off coupon for the Holiday weekend, plus shipping and sales tax brings it to $59.76.

You'd have to pay me to get me to own a Penelope. Back to the topic of incongruous, over-designed, over-burdened Gundam designs, it is by far the worst thing I've ever seen. It's like an "origami chicken" Gundam got lost on the way to G-Gundam and then decided it wanted to be taken seriously. It's hideous.

Not a fan of the FF Armor, but Odysseus itself ain't unattractive.

Not really a big fan of the Odysseus either. It just looks like it's trying too hard to be different, rather than having any real function or coherent design ethos in place.

Agreed. I really hope it sells well so it justifies Bandai making more MG IBO Gundams. I do not want to see designs like Vidar or Lupus stuck behind a P-Bandai wall.

Even if it does happen it would be YEARS at minimum before you'd ever see a PG Barbatos. Just go for the MG.

It goes with that time period of the UC , "UC/Unicorn" being added later notwithstanding, but between UC0088 to UC00120, Mobile Suit designs became more grandiose and "draped" with armor.
Penelope is essentially a giant overcoat that becomes the fixed flight system with a birdlike profile.

In defense of Penelope, I really like it. It may be overwrought but it is themed well. In flight mode and standalone FFU it has the look of a winged mythical beast and that's real awesome. As far as Gundam designs go i certainly Odysseus looks swell. The proportions and head design certainly make it look mythical as well.

Completed the GN Sword Bits. It's neat how each one can be held by Qan[T]'s hands, but with this obscene amount of floating parts an effect ring is more effective. Also, when I look at my Double Full Sabre the music that plays when Phenex appears in the colony plays in my head instead of the choir that sings as Qan[T] enters the battlefield for some reason.

The battlefield still needs two more Action Bases for Strike and 00, plus I need to better block these guys; Rex is being blocked by the Colonel still. Also, can someone help me figure out if I'm imagining or not the Dynames standing on top of Kyrios as a transport in one of the episodes? Trying to see if that's a variable display option.

That 80s to early-90s aesthetic.  Then they go absolutely bonkers in a different direction during the middle of the second Century with motorcycle battleships.

Oh yeah! Some of the best designs from the 80s were the monstrously sharp and pointy, and bonkers design choices. Zeorymer and Dangaioh come to mind whenever I look at Penelope and Xi.

A part of me wants to say "We don't wanna talk about V's place in the UC" but then G-Reco happened and we REALLY don't want to talk about its place in the Unviersal Century.

How could you say that about G-Reco!? It gave us the answers to questions we never knew we wanted

I'm sorry but no amount of answers to that question can make up for the most Ghibli Gundam ever...
