You must be getting some duds from the Siege line cause the QC on mine is amazing. Chromia/Nightbird are a floppy mess and my Magnus has one loose hip but other than that they're all solid figures.
Having exactly 0 updates on that Armada Prime figure shown off right alongside Star Convoy, but getting word of a Super Megatron and the Seacons, who are already up for pre-order at the very least. Or outright for sale. I havent kept track, idk where theyre at
My Siege Jetfire feels cheap. Some joints are ridiculously loose. He looks nice but not nearly as much fun to mess with as I hoped. Oh well :/
Good news: I got Siege Ratchet, Mirage, Offroad Patrol, and Sports Car Patrol on a toy hunt. I fixed Brunt with school glue. Bad news: Ratchet just got discounted to $11.99, even though I paid $17.99 two days ago at store. Shows that even when price is that low, they still make profit. What a ripoff. But, I'll try to be as understanding as I can, so good for you if you scored one for that price.
If it makes you feel better I got two Refraktors 'at a steal' of £17 each recently - £11 elsewhere a few days later.
Picked up a pair of siege starscreams for 22 each. Now a place has them for 13 each. Siege is less than a year old, was not expecting such a huge discount. Maybe next year, but not now.
Argh. I'm annoyed when figures don't have enough of their weapons included. It annoyed me in the Prime Wars trilogy that figures like Grimlock were missing weapons due to using that plastic for the combiner feet. Siege was better but Earthrise Wheeljack doesn't have a gun (even though his G1 toy didn't either) but if they were going to give him such a small "shoulder missle" maybe a small gun too would have been nice. I'm probably going to give him Grapple's rifle and let Grapple use his hose nozzle as a "weapon".
When a new version of a character comes out the old one is called crap. For example MP Prime. I mean sure MP44 is more toon accurate but MP10 isn't crap. Can't both have their merits? When a new figure is released and I'm looking to see in hand feedback I have to go through ten pages of "Shipped", "out for delivery", "where is DHL?'
This so much. Just because something better comes along does not instantly make the old thing that was being praised turn to sudden junk. It's still great.
I don't get the demands for the Arcee triplets to combine. They didn't in the film, and they barely combined even in concept art. Why should Hasbro be pressured to work on some half-baked concept that they themselves can't seem to figure out themselves? Of all complains, this is the least substantial and most annoying in my opinion.
I have a hate/love for KO toys when they are done close to the original or even better nowadays. On one hand I get the figure for half the price of the original but on the other I kinda feel Hasbro/Takara should made a product so good that it's hard to KO. Example, the Combiner Wars mold, I have a Superion with 3/5 consisted of KO
Agreed. It was the same thing when Earthrise Prime was announced. I like Earthrise Prime and have pre-ordered him from Pulse, but I didn't suddenly like Siege Prime less. He's still one of my favorite figures. Familiar enough to get that nostalgia buzz, but different enough from G1 to feel fresh. Regarding MP-44, I actually prefer MP-10 slightly. I just think its design is a bit better looking. If I were to ever collect MP - which I won't, because it's too expensive to get a broad enough collection to satisfy me - MP-10 is the one I'd buy. I guess I'm just not all that big on cartoon accuracy. I mean, it's nice and all, but I also appreciate designs that diverge from that. To me, Transformers isn't just some 80's cartoon. I'm not knocking on people who feel that way - it's just not me.
That said, I'm very impressed with the engineering that went into the SS Constructicons to make them serve both purposes and still look good all around.
This isn’t as common an occurrence as fans bashing them but I find it off-putting as well when someone tries to defend Hasbro or Takara. Yeah, it’s pretty dumb and annoying when they’re constantly the target of fan ire but these large companies hardly need any of us rushing to their defense. Let’s try to maintain a healthy balance of respecting the individuals who work for these companies while also not humanizing the companies themselves.
I think A LOT of people need to sit back and ask themselves if their "unpopular toy opinion" is really all that unpopular before posting it in the aforementioned thread. A lot of posts I see there aren't really unpopular and would be more appropriate here.
I have this little pet peeve where I hate seeing shelves crammed with too many figures. I dislike shelves that are super super crowded. also, for some reason the only thing I care about organizing is my figures, everything must be divided up by series or season when it comes to chug. I dunno why but it bugs me when I see just a bunch of figures mixed together. I lose sleep on what season guys like the jumpstarters and roadbuster and whirl go since they never appeared in the cartoon but were released in 85. I dunno I thought I would share the weird things that bug me. I may be just crazy or something
Massively bugs me when I order online and it shows up in the shipping box showcasing what’s inside. I had this happen with MP-44 and it was delivered to my work. I wasn’t happy with the fact that it had gone through Parcelforce in the UK being that it was a big box and I’ve had a lot of negative interactions with them stealing my stuff, so on a £360 figure that was a massive no no for me. I didn’t have a say in the carrier. I knowingly sent it to my work so it wouldn’t be left on my porch for 8+ hours but I’ve got a thing about keeping my work and personal life as separate as possible and it was just unfortunate that it was on display in the post room. We’re not really supposed to have personal stuff delivered as it slows down efficiency or some bs like that.
