That's a theory I'm gonna stick to as well. If you take MP-39 and MP-45 and compare the parts counts, I think it's fairly similar. While I get why some folks don't adore the feet, the backpack is much cleaner than early pics suggested, and he sure does cut a much more accurate Bee figure than MP-21 did. Do I love the price tag? Nope. But the figure is brilliant, and I see the value in it for sure, so I feel like my money was well spent.

Or...or, you could put on your big boy pants and not let people's differing opinions bother you so much. Or if you must go to the extreme, maybe don't go on TF related websites if such things do bother you so much. Nah...who am I kidding? Of course you're right...just ending the line would obviously be the best and most reasonable option!

You do have to push the gun up a little higher than you might think.
    20191201_142117.jpg

But doing so will give you JUST enough clearance.

Oooo I wouldnt that at all, my first copy is not pretty but the mold itself is great. I think I'm gonna pick up two more eventually while my original stays my coffee table bot.

Man this thing is pretty... but kind of a nightmare.
I don't even know how the feet work. I've transformed him 3 times and each time the feet are just complicadium and mess with potential breakage until somehow they transform.
I don't know how or why....

Getting the roof into place in car mod is also an unfun challenge.

    But yeah, he's cute.

We still don't know why this was delayed, right? Doesn't seem to have been to solve QC issues.

So awesome... first break on an MP I’ve owned. I’ve transformed him maybe five times since Friday. He didn’t even last the weekend. I’ve had MPs for years endure countless transformations. This is only adding to my disappointment with this figure. It could have used a bit more time in the design phase to sort out the feet, waist and backpack. The backpack isn’t bad but it’s like a joint or two from being so much better. And I don’t see the point of having the feet be the way they are at all; to accommodate an opening door that you can’t even put Spike inside through?o_O  Bumblebee is probably my favorite G1 character I was hoping for better here. Even the waist swive, it’s more of a wiggle, why? 29A60834-B386-46DE-BFDC-CDFE211B073B.jpeg

Don't feel bad, I broke the driver's side front wheel off mp-44. Sad thing is, I wasn't even pushing on it hard at all, I was terrified to break anything on such an expensive figure. I haven't touched him since that first transformation, either.

Mine tabs really good. While it looks gappy, these are completely zoomed in on a very tiny vehicle. The plastic, while it might feel flimsy, it is not.

It is much stronger that I thought, you really have to “push” things and they will stay and peg in place OK. Give it a shot.

Having lots of fun with this little guy. My neutral face actually has 2 paint chips, but considering the actual face is so tiny, they are barely noticeable.

Sorry to hear about that ☹️ do sad when a piece breaks on an expensive figure ! Especially when Takara isn't like some 3rd parties and willing to provide replacement parts. Will you be sending back for a replacement?

As for the Spike thing though, he does fit in there:

I know he fits but not through the door like on Optimus. So what’s the point of designing the feet to be universally hated for no real reason?

Ah gotcha, yeah I'm with you on that. Yes that foot design is just dumb. Hate to be so critical but you're right, who cares about a door opening if you have to crack the toy open to get the figure in there?

Still not 100% sure on MP 45 but I've not had much time to get to know him yet.

I am an unabashed lover of and apologist for this figure, but I am indeed puzzled on why the feet need to be the way they are even with the door opening feature. The main door panel is not larger than the foot size we all want, it's just offset such that it only overlaps the rest of the foot by about 50% due to the hinge placement. It indeed seems to me like one more design iteration could have gotten that panel to sit completely under the foot and also have the window fold completely inside. This really in no way affects my enjoyment of the figure or diminishes my how taken I am with it, but it's still kind of a head scratcher to me, and I have to assume the compromise was made to meet a deadline.

The feet design was the deal breaker for me. The backpack I can forgive but I think they could've done better with the feet if not for the opening door gimmick.

It feels like this was only their first draft.

I agree with you and I enjoy all of my Masterpiece figures but
I hope Bee wasn’t rushed to meet a deadline. These figures are supposed to be “Masterpiece” not “Almost OK”. They should be taking their time to make the best quality figure they can especially given their long drawn out release schedule and price tag. Even MP44 suffers from this, his hip joints are really loose from a poor design of his upper leg ratchets. Sunstreaker is probably the best MP we’ve ever gotten as far as design and finish.
