Nice, but how big?

 

Paging @erwinsims, might wanna keep an eye on this, remembered you wanted an OS SS-32 at one point.

 

I can't help but be a little disappointed by this. I mean, I realise most of BmB/AM's recent OSKO offerings have been exactly that - straight oversized KOs - but this is one of those pairs which could have done with just a little tweaking to take it from "pretty neat" to "awesome". In particular, it would have been nice if they did something about Prime's open, exposed feet in the combination mode.

Credit where it's due, though, it does look like they gave Jetfire fully articulated hands. I'm seeing what looks to be either ball or mushroom/swivel joints at the top of each finger and two, possibly even three pins further down (even on the thumb). Even DNA didn't go that far. Makes the lack of Prime tweaks all the more disappointing (especially his fixed hands).

*ed: According to a comment on TransFans, Prime is 24.5cm (~9¾") and Jetfire is 33cm (~13"). This puts Prime at about the same size as MPM-4.

Prime is 25 cm tall and Jetfire 33 cm tall. How does that fare up with your scalechart @erwinsims?

 

As big as an old ROTF Leader. Jesus, I thought he'd only be like 19cm tall!

 

Thank you for bringing this to my attention, but Prime needs to be 21.8 cm as a bot to work with the Studio Series deluxes, 25 cm makes him hte height of the MPM bots and since we actually have the MPM Prime at 24,5 this one seems to be exactly like all other OS figures.. to big to actually work.

This one is around 1:34 scale so he might work with older deluxes (DOTM and maybe TLK ones)

This is how tall each bot would be (in cm's) if they were in 1:39 scale (both modes and vehicles normal size included)

 

It's a good scale, maybe later there will be upgrade it to use the OS SS35 Jetfire on the MPM4 or ROTF leader.

 

Damn that sucks. I'm a huge freak for robot mode scale and SS Prime does neither robot nor vehicle correctly. These KO companies really should stop making their figures so big...

 

I agree with you.
the only prime we have now that looks good enough with the SS bots (robotmode on;ly trough) is the oversized SS05, he is 19 cm's so a tad higher than the Evasion mode Prime.

I am now reworking a Ultimate Prime to become (ironicly) my ultimate Prime, it is the only one that scales well in robot height and vehicle length.
altrough he was a little to wide (reduced his width by 6mm) the figure is decent enough.(still a wip so don't mind the gaps)

it is sad that when 3P companies do make a KO, they always go overboard.. It would be great if we got a prime that would actually scale well, Has/tak wont give us a proper sized one (16-17 cm or scale 1:51-1:53) and the others are all between 25 and 33 cm's..

 

Wow, I didn't realize how much better your Ultimate Optimus Prime looks!

 

I have a few thoughts. I hope this means an OS Ratchet (DOTM and TFTM) is coming up, along with an OS DOTM Optimus Prime with jetpack and an OS DOTM Megatron.

How much bigger is this Jetfire than the original?

 

Jetfire should be 40 cm atleast. He was definitely bigger than megatron!

 

he should be double that to be scale accurate in alt mode.. that thing is huge!

Where do we get more info on these? and lets just home they miscalculated the size a little.. if the prime was to be around 22 cm we could have a winner

 

Love the paint job on prime, plz can you guys include his swords..... also, loving the mods to jetfire, pose-able fingers, wings open up more on the bot. Will pick it up for sure.

 

SS32 didn't come with swords so I dunno if BMB will put in new accessories

 

All they have to do is copy the first SS prime’s swords.

 

It seems pretty simple but if it's not in the CAD file they most likely won't include it.

 

They made whole new weapons for bb prime, so I don’t see why it would be so hard to get those swords.
