Jesus. Multiple levels of wrong. Maybe someone will think that's hilarious. On paper is one thing, but telling that story with actors in those roles could be a recipe for disaster.

 

There should be MC Hammer showing up when little kids are around and he can sing "Can't touch this"

Also who else had the the thought when they saw the title that Depp was going to play MJ himself? At least the older white MJ.  

 

So basically he is redoing his Willy Wonka performance I take it..

 

I don’t see this getting off the ground. For one, the glove thing is too weird. Plus, you’re damned if you do and damned if you don’t with casting Michael Jackson. If you go into his later years, you either cast a white guy or you put a black person in white face. Either way will cause controversy just like that anthology show a few years back where they cast Joseph Fiennes as a post-9/11 Michael Jackson.

 

So it's this but with a glove instead of a clone?

 

I came in expecting to see that Depp was playing Jackson.

Now I’m disappointed

 

For those who prefer to comment rather than read the article: no, Johnny Depp isn't playing Michael Jackson, and b) per the linked article it's a stage musical, not a movie (although an unrelated MJ film is mentioned in the article).
