Here's a little obscure blast from the past - Autoscout for Soundwave!

This little bot was shown in one of the original Transformers episodes where Soundwave sent him to scout an explosive crystal field.

This lil dude has been sized to fit inside Siege Soundwave.

    Autoscout02.jpg

"Autoscout - eject! Operation - scout the Crystal Field..."

    Autoscout03.jpg

Here's what he looks like in tape mode:

A closer look here. Ignore the paint scruffs as I was trying to get shots of him before something snaps (he's soooo small!)

    Autoscout05.jpg

The top opens up towards the back and has 3 "lights" up top for illumination.

The double-jointed robotic arm is stowed backwards and can be deployed forwards for scout missions. The arm is so thin and seemingly may snap at any point :p

For better stability, the rear wheels separate outwards slightly to give a larger wheelbase.

    Autoscout08.jpg

Here's what it looks like fully transformed - with robotic arm fully extended, a little itsy canon which swivels out of the top bit as well as front wheel extended.

"Go do your thing, lil Autoscout!"

    Autoscout10.jpg

This model is fully 3d printed in resin, save for the 1.5mm and 1 mm brass rods used as pegs.

Was a fun little project to get cranked out in the last couple of day (aside from some cursing when parts don't quite fit right or somehow drop on the floor and go missing)!

If anyone would like to give this a shot (in resin 3d printing only unfortunately) - files have be released here: Transformers Soundwave's Autoscout | Funbie Studios on Patreon

Also - Happy Thanksgiving everyone! =)

When I first saw this thread I thought it was an autoscout for G1/MP Soundwave. I had no clue it was for siege until I read the thread further. Awesome job!

    Thanks all! =D

Yeah, only had a siege soundwave handy, so it had to be size for this one. That probably made it a little more challenging too :p

That’s what makes it so cool tho! There’s already a couple 3rd party autoscout toys for MP Soundwave. Yours is one of a kind!

The hell? That is odd and awesome all at the same time. Great job on the design!
