Looks good, doesn't seem like I'm missing anything.

So are you using the hinges in the hips to transform her? I think you are, but I can't feel the natural point where they're in the right position. WHich is frustrating, since she's not complex- I think I'm still having problems because while there are locking points, the same solidity isn't universal- each leg (a significant portion of the finished thorax) is only held in by a single guide tab at the knee (And I refuse to call it anything other than a guide tab- it's not solid or specific enough to be more than that). And the waist is a weaker joing than most of the leg joints, so trying to finess the legs into that perfect, non-specific angle is just wigling her pelvis about.

I spent a good hour or two yesterday certain that there must be something else to guide or lock the robot legs into place, but it's just those knee tabs. And do I need to use the thigh swivels together with the various hip joints to get that ideal angle? I feel like I have to, but the toy gives me no guidancew than "that doesn't feel right". I could accept a compromised spider if it at least came together easily, but this thing gives you so little reassurance or satisfaction that you've got the transformation right or not. You have some early encouragement with those locks and tabs you pointed out, but then it abandons you to uncertainty.

I've just transformed mine, and she feels like a CHUG figure. In fact pretty sure the CHUG one feels chunkier. This one is so light and there's no MP moment to be found. Tolerances are all over the place. I wish her knee joints are tighter. They are not floppy, but neither are they tight enough to hold some of the poses I want her to hold. Her thighs should have been diecast. It's obvious 60% of the budget probably went to her accessories. I mean those are not bad, but again at these prices, I'd expect a properly toleranced figure.

Takara MP: Continuing the fine tradition of justifying the existence of 3P.

    100% agreement.

I think the MP-moment for me was how the head and chest unfold and cover the torso. Either that or just the entire transformation process. It seems to explode from a tiny body to a lithe and super articulated spider lady.
It isn't the perfect figure, but is leagues above standard mainline stuff.

I don't know about anyone else, but the MP moment is having a robot mode that looks like it jumped straight off the screen, does NOT look like it transforms, but then transforms anyway. I also love the way the body is created from the head/thorax, and the back and front come together to make a gapless body.

The beast mode isn't perfect, or anywhere close to it . I don't think anyone on here will argue it is. But it's impressive that they got ANYTHING out of that robot mode. And honestly, i hand, I think beast mode is fine.

This thing looks better than the screen grab. The paint on it, the texture of the plastic. Love the lower bot legs. That beautiful spider and it all forms perfectly into her sexy momma bot form. Oh I get it, it’s not chunky and heavy lol. You see, it needs to be heavy for people to think they got their money’s worth. Comparing this to a chug. Laughable

I think I'm just really happy she doesn't parts-form. Yeah, the alt mode isn't perfect as was stated, but I have great respect for the design in that it managed to pull off what they did without needing additional pieces.

i felt the same way as you until after a couple pointers from others on the board. you’ll know if you got it right when everything locks into place and doesn’t move around. @Actar’s video is a good visual reference if the last few pages of scattered tips aren’t enough for you.

I disagree with your analysis of blackarachnia, but agree with you on this. You are allowed to feel however you like about the things you buy and own. Your evaluation of value is your own.

Regardless, I cannot help but feel differently about my own evaluation. I like my toy.

I had not noticed... and now it bugs me lol

I probably would have noticed once in hand and its no biggy really as the spiders web hides it well enough...its just a bit sloppy of them don't you think? I remember when we first saw the stand it being pointing out that it had to be a mock up/stand in stand and that the final stand would be more bespoke... think again guys! With all the care and attention to detail that TT put into the design of these figures its a shame not to follow through with the stand.

I just think if TT either need to commit stands and makes some really nice ones that are pack in with all MPs (or sold separately) or forget about it and let us get our own 3rd party stands if and when the mood takes us. Dinobot's stand is basic and IMO both ugly and incongruous, Megatron came with adapters but no stand(WTF TT!?), and Blackarachnia's was seemingly cobbled together from spare parts laying around the designers office and they went "yeah... throw a spider web on it and they wont notice.. job done"

Not to detract from how great the figure looks of course. I'm still really looking forward to getting mine and the I really like the spiders web accessory, it almost makes the cynical incision of a stand to 'justify' the price acceptable.

you have to shave off a bit of the rounded part of the joint, like just a bit. theres some excess plastic left over from the moulding that leaves a bit of a peg which doesnt let you rotate it all the way. On another note.... did anyone else spider arm come broken at the joint :(  ??

My wife just issued a rule of "no dangling off bookshelves".

    I'm slightly broken hearted.
