Back in October. I got the right one on Sunday.

 

Not sure where to put this but it's Amazon related so I guess here? I've been trying to play the waiting game with the Mirage-Impactor-Aragon 3-pack and looking for some good "deal" prices from Amazon warehouse. I previously scored the G2 Sidewsipe set and the Skywarp set at a 25% and 12% off respectively; other than some "damage" to the packaging everything inside was 100% and just fine. I don't keep the packaging anyway so it's a win-win for me. So far, I've had DISMAL results with the 3-pack. I've tried 3 times now with the following results:

1. Set arrived, Aragon was nowhere to be found (someone obviously bought, removed, and returned it).
2. Set arrived, Aragon missing AND Impactor switched with the regular version
3. Set arrived, Aragon present BUT both Mirage and Impactor switched with the regular versions.

I should mention also NONE of the sets were sealed in any way. They are literally just swap-out and return.

So people are REALLY abusing the Amazon return process for this item. Each time I complained to Amazon that the item isn't just "used" it's INCOMPLETE. They gave me a $5 promo credit as an apology and said they would note it in the system but I doubt it will change. Just wanted to mention it for anyone deal hunting for this set.

The frustrating thing, if I had known this would be the problem, between 1 and 3 above, I could have just Frankenstein'd a full set together, but I have been returning them as I go. I mean if Amazon doesn't care, why should I? So now I'm sitting with the 3rd attempt. Ordered one more time to see what I get.

 

Pay full price and be done with it. You put yourself through this, needlessly.

 

Yeah wow, I feel like I'm reading a Walmart thread! My plan for this set is to wait until Monday at latest.

I ordered a full priced set but was out of town when Amazon scheduled early delivery. I didn't see any way to set up a vacation hold and they were delivering it themselves so my USPS hold was ineffective. So I sent in a return request and they just refunded me. Since it's not sold out I've been sitting tight.

I avoid Amazon Warehouse deals on toys. Too much headache for me personally.  

You could probably wait until this weekend to see if they discount the 3-pack.

Did you check your Slamdance for the exploding knees/legs/ankles? I don't have the set, but that's what I've read about it on TFW2005.   That's the only set I'm missing from Siege, and the Off-Road micromaster set. Might pick those two up if they have a sale otherwise I'm okay if I don't ever own them.

 

Yeah well lesson learned I guess. I've never had problems with Amazon warehouse before this. But since I'm already in the weeds with it I'm going to see what happens with the next order. Just wanted to share my experience for the benefit of others because it really was a first for me.

 

1- company implements cool feature that relies somewhat on trust
2- small, entitled minority see that they can abuse the system and "get away with it"
3- company starts to lose too much money from the minority.
4- company closes cool feature
5- people blame the company for the loss of this feature.

 

In any other discourse, they would be referred to as thieves...so I admire your restraint.

Quite correct. I was also trying to include those who buy something just before the sales and then return and buy it in the sales to be sure they can get the item at the discount or buying a dress, wearing it for a short time such as a job interview and returning it and other such, not breaking the rule but breaking the spirit of the rule, situations that cause companies to clamp down.

In this specific case though, yup, no difference to doing this than walking into a store, putting the figure in your pocket and walking out. Just more cowardly.

 

So... we think Omega Supreme will be a lightning deal on cyber Monday like years past with the titans? That's what I'd been holding out for, but the fact he's not even in stock ordinarily right now, except for the overpriced warehouse one, has me thinking maybe I should've tried to get ahold of him sooner. I remember there was some WalMart discount or something like that which wasn't too bad. Oh well.

 

Who knows, Omega sold out fast at MSRP and/or especially with the ~$25 off from the big box retailers, and he came out late October... while the other previous Titans came out in June/July and pegged warmed hard on line IIR.

I guess just keep checking and hope for the best?

edit: i do know best buy reward members will get 25% off one toy dec 1-15 (ymmv), and they have omega.

 

Note that there are currently TWO active listings for Omega on Amazon. The "out of stock" one was the original listing; a new one popped up, I want to say about a month ago? And I thought I saw a third at one point but I can't locate it now.

Yeah it's really weird. Anyway, I'm not giving up on the prospect of a sub-$100 Omega.

 

Just got my Bumblebee v2 today from Amazon Japan, only took 2 days shipping time from Japan! Seems like magic. It entered the country through Cincinnati Ohio though, not NYC. Amazing speed!

If Amazon didn't list the 'package was opened' then it's their fault.

I've never had a bad experience with Warehouse myself, but I tend to only pick up stuff that was unopened/damaged package. I am suspicious of ones that were previously opened (more experience on this end with electronics and commonly-returned graphics cards that were previously used for cryptomining).
