It doesn't matter where they are if they sell only to Foreign customers. That's the reason they are not bound by the embargo.

Their stock is also more limited. I think I've been Baba sold out of an FT product at around 140 units or so.

Everyone who buys from TaoBao experiences this with FT products. For me I experienced it with Spoiler, Jabber, Roadking, Maverick, Hoodlum and Quietus. Can’t remember if Rouge was also delayed or if she was the last one I got on time.
FT also started cutting down the number of figures they distributed to Chinese sellers in the first batch. Western stores get as many as they want but Chinese stores get a small allocation and then have to wait for up to a couple of months before they can get more. It doesn’t seem to be a case of them waiting for a second run of a figure, just that FT fast tracks a certain number of figures for Western retailers, tosses a small allocation to Chinese stores and then the rest of that production run is delivered later.

it’s well known and has been verified by both retailers and customers.
The speculation is that the wholesale price FT charges Western retailers is higher, so it’s more profitable for FT to pander to them over the local Chinese market.

The problem with the alt mode is the back half is perfect. It's just the arms.

 

It was kind of the transition point from old FT to new FT. It was the first one I recall where they went for a full premium feel with all aspects - paint, heft, articulation, design. Not without its flaws, but imho it was a turning point for FT.

 

I'm really enjoying my copy. The blue-purple looks right now and I'm satisfied. My lights make the color more blue than it is. No paint flaws, joints are tight and the only I can find is a little mark on the back of his leg otherwise great figure.
