Me and my father-in-law, I came up with the design and dimensions. There are two this size and 5' wide by 8' high and two that are 7' wide and 8' high. These will all be stained, the bottom will have sliding doors on tracks for the TF boxes the rest of the shelves will have tempered glass on sliding tracks.
So with the purchase of Unicron it got me thinking about how to display him. I started looking at moducases, but to get what I wanted I would have to custom order and they are already a lot money. So I started a conversation about them with my Dad and he said he could build it. He wanted to try to make one and he priced it out. Minus the lights and acrylic windows it was like $60-80. So he built one and it looked good so I told him to build the other two. I give you what I have dubbed Daducases: I also had him convert my 3 cube displays (bottom) into two large shelve displays. I am debating wither to add the acrylic windows. It will cost a significant amount and neither my father or I have a clear idea on how to do them.
I printed them myself and mounted the large ones on half inch insulation foam and the smaller ones on foam backed display/poster boards.

I picked up another project piece today for $40. This one will need a bit of work but I think it will look pretty cool when I’m done. It has a rotating center. I need to hollow out the center and add some small shelving as well as dress up the marquee. It’s hexagonal plexiglass. The bottom has a door for storage. The lighting works well so that’s a plus.
This is four FEXT sci-fi 03 sets put together. Since I didn't put in supports at the very front, the sides / ceiling will droop a bit at this size. Instructions are awful. There are pieces that look just about the same but function differently. Had to take apart and reassemble multiple times due to that. The sets also skimp on the number of inter-panel pieces, so I had to add more floating platforms than I originally wanted. Otherwise, looks nice when it's all done. Pieces go together sorta like Legos but much harder to take apart. The clear light panels are useful for those who like to take pictures.
Put on the polyurethane and finished the 2nd 5’er and working on wiring up the LED strips. After this working on the monster 7’ cabinets.
One thing that has my eye about these are that they sell flight stands that attach both to the floors and the ceilings.
You really seem to luck out on finding this stuff. Do you drive around specifically to look for it? Do you have some sort of connection that gets you hot tips? I think all of the decent mom & pop retail shops went out of business in my area well before I moved here, so I’ve never seen anything like this that I could snag for a song. Sears closed shop at three different locations near me last year, but none of their fixtures were that cheap, even at blowout prices.
